Had an overnighter with Mrs Mystic last month at the Seaton Lane Inn. Well recommended, great service, with a smile. Food excellent British cuisine, good portions. Timothy Taylor 'Landlord' beer, a star amongst stars in my opinion. Easy to get to and from via the main Newcastle to Sunderland road. Rooms very comfortable and recently upgraded.
Well recommended. MM

Having worked in Sunderland on and off for a few months, I am surprised I never found this great Inn earlier. Ideally located and easy to find just off the A19, it is an ideal pub hotel. The rooms which are large and fantastically furnished are in an attached annex. So unlike many pub hotels I have stayed at, here you do not get to hear the noise of the pub, or for that matter the A19 if you need to sleep early. Food was very good and served with a smile, what a difference that makes, breakfast was good and quick too. Plenty of off street parking is available. Will be going back soon.

Room Tip: All rooms look good and were not too hot either.

Right from the start of my 5 day stay, the staff were extremely helpful. The manageress, waitresses and cleaners were pleasant from breakfast till last thing at night. The breakfasts and meals I had there were all very good, served to a very high standard. The room was clean, well laid out and quite at night. I was returning to this area to recapture some of my happier moments when my late dear wife was with me. The Seaton Lane Inn and staff just made my visit that extra bit special, and of course Sunderland won on Sunday which was the icing on the cake.
Thank you all for looking after me so well.

Our four day stay here has been very pleasant. The room is very modern and well kept, with lots of space. The breakfast has been generous with many choices. The porridge is really good. We had lunch and dinner in the restaurant and those meals were really well done. The roasts of the day were especially good.
Special thanks to Kim and Tracy, the supervisors we met, for their friendliness and good service, and to Jill the cleaner for being particularly kind and doing an amazing job.
Thanks to everyone, we hope to return soon!

I have stayed here previously and have never left a review until now.

The Seaton Lane Inn is a very nice and modern place to stay. The staff are more than friendly and always polite. The food is also fantastic in the restaurant with a wide variety of items to choose from a couple of menus. There is a wide range of Breakfasts to be had dependant upon your tastes. Every time food is served, its piping hot and very quick, no waiting for ages for your next course.

My only issue on my last visit was the bed caused me some back ache on the 2 nights I stayed. Not sure if this was a bed issue or me. However, I don't think this will put me off at all for any future stays.

The girls who work in the hotel are to be commended. I wish all the hotels I stay in have staff as polite as here.

We stopped for a meal here recently, and were very impressed. The lounge/restaurant area is very classy, yet intimate and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious, in particular the seafood medley. Offset from the restaurant is a bar area with a traditional 'pub' feel, which offers a comfortable, relaxing environment for an extra drink after dining. I imagine we would have utilised this fully had we been staying in the hotel!

A faultless dining experience in terms of quality of food, service, and atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend.
