“Delicious with home made bread”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

Had a delicious lunch here yesterday. Lovely home made bread with yummy soup and a fab scone with jam and cream. The coffee was good too. The cafe has a really natural unfussy look and the guy who served us very welcoming. Reasonably priced for Kirkby Lonsdale (which, in case you haven't been, is a delightful market town with lovely river views and walks.).

“Lovely food and great service”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

I met with friends at the Cariad and enjoyed a great lunch - eating far more than I was planning too! We all had something different, I had the chicken, bacon and cheese melt which was served on a baguette with BBQ sauce. Really delicious and very filling, however I still managed one of the large freshly baked scones with jam and cream. Two pots of tea later and some lovely conversation a very nice time was had by all. Service was friendly and cafe was nice and clean. The all day breakfast seemed a popular choice and the homemade cakes all looked very tempting. I will revisit the cafe on my next visit to Kirkby Lonsdale and would definitely recommend if you are visiting the area if you are looking for great food at a good price.

“Sunday snack”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

Called in on our way back from the Lakes. After a look round Kirkby Lonsdale at a few places to eat we saw Cariad (Welsh I think for Sweetheart?) It was very busy when we went in which is usually a good sign.

We had a couple os sandwhices which I think were served on home made bread. They were delicious. The service was excellent and we were more than happy with the price.

Well worth a visit if you find yourself in Kirkby Lonsdale.

“Excellent food and service and great value”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

This friendly small café style restaurant in the heart of beautiful Kirby Lonsdale is well worth visiting and does a range of snacks and meals which are all freshly prepared and served with pride. The home made scones must be the best in the town. Well worth a visit and great value too.

“Lovely friendly cafe in Kirby Lonsdale”
Reviewed May 26, 2014 via mobile

A warm friendly cafe serving not just a cup of tea and a slice of cake. If you have an appetite on you after a lovely ramble you can enjoy hearty dishes such as giant Yorkshire pudding filled with piping hot sausage, mash and veggies sleuth gravy. Or if your like me, a lighter but still filling halloumi with roasted peppers on toast with side salad.

The cafe was nice and busy, staff warm and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.
