Went here for a Groupon break late November. The hotel was in a good location. The room was warm and cosy once we realised the window was on vent and closed it!!! Our fault entirely. The food was very good we had the smoked tomato soup which was delicious, followed by the Fish pie which was very tasty. These two items were included in the Groupon deal and I can fully understand why some dishes have a supplement to pay. Come on folks you got the deal at a very good rate so stop moaning.
The bar prices were average, unlike some hotels which charge exhorbitant rates.
The breakfast was brilliant you chose from a large selection of food on a servery and everything was cooked in smal portions and quickly replenished when necessary.
The staff were very helpful and friendly but I do suppose if you are pleasant to people they will be pleasant back to you. The owner/manager was fine with us and I couldnt see him being rude to anyone despite most of the guests being on one deal or another so cant understand some previous reviews
A young man ran round during our evening meal, dashing from the bar to the kitchen and then out with the meals, he worked so hard to ensure we had a nice evening.
We didnt go to the pool or leisure facilities so cant comment on them.
Overall we had a pleasant experience and would recommend this place to friends.

Room Tip: Room 5 floor slopes quite a lot and we had a bit of trouble with the shower temperature

Just got back from a midweek stay with family. If you like log fires, cosy and friendly surroundings then this is the place to be! Whoop Hall is ideally placed to explore the surrounding area too. The building and facilities on offer were superb. The food was fantastic and the host and all the staff were friendly, professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we had a great time. We will certainly be returning if only to enjoy the banter with Adrian!

We took a group of families 10 in total for an over night stay, we had families that have children with disabilities so they never normally do an overnight like this.
I would like to thank the owners and the staff for making our stay very special, they gave us a separate room usually used for weddings and provided a hot buffet in the evening , the children were safe and could run around but not spoil it for other guests. They even brought the hotel dog in to be petted by all the kids who loved this little extra entertainment .
Breakfast was delicious a full English, fruit, yogurts, cereals and toast including yummy fried bread.
The swimming pool sauna and steam room including jacuzzi were really nice and the view from the hotel was so relaxing whilst sat in the jacuzzi .
The rooms were really nice and clean beds comfortable and bedding and pillows smooth and lump free( if you are fussy you will know what I mean)
The staff went out of their way to provide for us and there were board games and newspapers in the sofa area.
I just hope we didn't spoil it for others as we were a rather large group and lots of noisy kids!!

We were on our way to The Lakes to spend 4 days with some old friends and four of us met up for lunch at The Whoop Hall in Kirby Lonsdale, thank god we were not spending the holiday there!

Arrived into a cold bar to be greeted, eventually,by a young man who directed us to an even colder back room. Although there were only two couples in the bar after 10 minutes I went to ebquire if we could get a drink, the young girl who has assisting him started the order, but he appeared to undermind her at every turn although she was doing every thing right.
The food was very bland and the young mans service was very poor, heaven knows what he would have done if a coach party pulled in!!

The next time I am heading to The Lakes through Kirby Lonsdale I think I will give The Whoop Hall a miss!

We visited here on a 2 night break - not through Living Social but were offered the same deal by the owner. Very spacious room (Room 16). There was a double bed which was comfortable( but mighty creaky when you moved even slightly!) and all the usual furniture then a partition wall and a single bed. Others previously mentioned the road noise, this did not bother us as the noise died down in the eveing and overnight.
Food was really good both evenings and the breakfast buffet was more than ample. The leisure facilities are great to relax in as is the lounge area of the hotel
So why only an average rating? Well my husband and I had to clear many spiders webs around the head of the bed and all the furniture was very dusty - not dirty - but really in need of a clean with a damp duster. Grout in the shower cubicle tiles also needs attention and some bleach. I did mention this when we were checking out and hopefully this will be rectified. However it would not deter us from visiting this hotel again as these were in our opinion minor flaws.

the first thing is that we only paid 82 quid for B&B. So i cannot be to negative.so the good points:Good reception the two guys running the bar and reception were spot on.we arrived at 14:15 but the rooms were not ready after fifteen minutes we were shown to room two.We dropped of our luggage then left to visit Kirkby. When we arrived back i looked more closely to the room and found that it was well below the average cleanliness standard you would expect from a hotel The carpet was dirty the toilet would not flush and the extractor fan was very noisy.i found the proprietor A Spanish chap i think Whom after explaining the problems and requesting a change of room was off hand and never offered an apology. The second room (seven) was better however there was evidence of the previous occupiers!! and you could grow a culture from the bottom of the windows!!Still the leisure center was good and clean and the bar area was ok. we never ate there as I believe in first impressions regarding the cleanliness gives you an idea of what the kitchen may be like!we had a night in kirkby and arrived back by taxi at 12 the breakfast was good buffet style. my advise ? give it a go but don,t go if your cleanliness standards are to high!!!

Room Tip: i thing the higher the room number the higher the quality
