thoroughly enjoyed our stay, room 5 was wonderfully warm and comfortable, the best sleep in a long while, underfloor heating in the bathroom was glorious with a great double shower. dinner and breakfast served in wonderful surroundings - well worth a visit, would most definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay here! Check in was very efficient with friendly staff. Cute little heart key rings on the room keys, nice touch. We stayed in Room 8, gorgeous kingside bed with THE best bathroom in any hotel. Heated floor was so luxurious and the sunken bath to die for. The breakfast was great and served til a decent hour, not too early! Only problem was the limited car parking, and they asked to keep our keys in the event we should be blocking someone access and their staff would move it. Other than that such a great hotel, will be back soon! Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

Just retuned from a night at the Royal. What a little gem - stayed in room 4 over looking the market square. Lovely room, really comfortable bed and everything you would need. It really feels like staying in someones home rather than an hotel. Staff very friendly, worthy of a special mention was the manager? who checked us in couldn't of been more helpful. Lovely dinner and breakfast - using quality produce. Enjoyed it so much, booked again!

Room Tip: Room 4 - Large, luxurious room that has a double bath in the bedroom - perfect for a romantic break...

We stayed at this hotel for a two night break Sat 2nd-Mon 4th Feb. Thanks to all the staff who helped us feel so welcome and well treated in this lovely hotel. A special mention must go to the hard working manager who worked tirelessly to ensure all guests were welcomed and cared for. We stayed in room 9 and have no complaints, the room was comfortable and clean with a lovely view across the square. We don't usually use hotel public areas preferring to explore locally, however, we felt so welcome and relaxed in the Royal that we struggled to remove ourselves from the comfy sofa in the snug area in front of the roaring fire. The sparkling wine and grey goose vodka certainly helped us to relax in style. I felt so comfortable that I imagined myself a weekend guest in a country house rather than a hotel, thank you so much, we will definitely return.

Room Tip: There was some noise at the front, this didn't disturb us, however, the rooms at the back are pr...

The hotel is located in the centre of a lovely small town and the room we had overlooked the square. The staff were very helpful in all respects and couldn’t do enough for us. We ate in the Hotel one evening and the food was very good. We both enjoyed our breakfasts which was made with quality products, I guess locally sourced. There was a large snow fall when we stayed which added to the beauty of our stay and the area.

Room Tip: Get a room on the front with a view of the square and the hills.

my wife and i had our wedding reception at the royal hotel in k, lonsdale after our ceremony down the road at st marys church, and we have to say it was fantastic. we arrived on the thur mornin along with all family members, we had booked all the rooms for the thur night before the wedding, and we arranged a wedding package with the manager (jason) that included all 14 rooms, wedding breakfast and reception drinks canapes etc, also we got the royal all to ourselves for the whole day of our wedding which was brilliant, we got looked after from start to finish, the wedding menu was lovely, all our guests said how lovely the room looked and the hotel is beutifull inside and out, we got some crackin pictures which ive included in this review, my wife and i stayed until the sunday which gave us time to finish off the wine that was left, jason also included 40 bottles of wine and 20 presseco into the wedding package,
all in all we were made up with it, from the organising with jason the manager and all the other royal staff was really easy and they all did a fantastic job with our wedding, if you or anyone you know is thinking about using the royal, DO. you wont regret it.
