Visited along with family, who had recommended this place. It was a lovely atmosphere from the minute we walked in. The menu was quite varied and something for everyone. The lady who was working our table and was also behind the bar was really lovely and attentive and really made us feel very welcome. I can imagine this place being lovely in the winter and Christmas time. The only gripe I would say, we had a 13 month old baby with us and they had no high chairs, which I thought was a bit strange because they were quite welcoming with our children. Can't think why they can have a little chair or something to attach to the chair for our little nephew, it made it quite difficult for his mum to eat her meal and take care of the toddler. The meal was nice however although quite pricey, it was delicious. If they would have had a high chair we would definite have awarded 5 stars.

Atmosphere and cleanliness is good. Drinks and food are good. All meals are pricey for mid week or simple ingredient meals. Regulars in there but not awkward in any way. Always at least a few others eating whenever we go in.

We took our long time friends to the Plume on Friday 3rd Aug, for dinner. James (chef) had Squid on the menu, FANTASTIC, one of my favourite fish. My friend Marg had never had it, but being a brave girl, she gave it a try and enjoyed it too. Steve (my husband) had the smoked haddock which he ate in the blink of an eye, it was so good!!!!! Andy the fourth member of the group had the minute steak and declared it perfect, so a really lovely meal all round. Haley, Kerry and Catherine, the lovely bar staff/waitresses were all on form and looked after us really well. You must go and try the Plume out. There's a very pretty court yard garden which we didn't get to sit in on this visit as a little cooler on Friday evening.

We have been here lots of lunchtimes and never had reason to complain. They serve good traditional Sunday roasts, fish and chips and salads. The beer is well kept. Good quick service. Good value for money. The decor is a bit tired, but that doesn't affect the quality of the food. Everything a pub should be. Never booked and only turned away once!
