I normally only write reviews when I'm travelling, but today, I'd like to describe an extraordinary place in the region where I live. Alain Bächler, the chef, has been enchanting his guests for years, and every year, his creations become better and better. It's that subtle knowledge of combination of savours - often surprising, never "too much" and always delicious - which give this place the status of one of the best restaurants in Switzerland - if not in Europe. The wine list is also refreshing: obviously, you'll find the "mandatory" "grand crus", but you also have some less know pearls at rather reasonable prices.
Service is very obliging and Alain Bächler apparently creates an outstanding working environment: almost all of the staff has been working there for more than 10 years. They are not doing a job, they have a mission.
Obviously, all this is not really cheap, but you'll pass a really oustanding culinary moment ...
