We really enjoyed our trip, got picked up from our hotel and caught the high speed train from Barcelona, had an amazing and knowledgeable guide. We booked the trip through Barcelona Guide Bureau, the only downside was that we would have liked extra time in the museum and time to look around/have a beer in the village. We didn't want to spend ages on a coach so may be the train times dictates.

Dali had an amazing imagination and a great sense of humour. This was the first time we had been in a museum that made us smile, sometimes laugh and always wonder at the incredible imagination that could conjure these outrageous creations. It was also very cool to be in a museum created by the artist. The very building and the rooms were all part of the exhibit. Things aren't explained. It isn't about "understanding" Dali. It is about sharing his sense of humour. Our young adult kids loved it and so did we.

We came with very high expectations and ended very disappointed.
The building and the overall visual effect of the main halls is overwhelming.
However the museum is a total shame.
You get a one page brochure with very little information.
There is no option for an audio-guide.
Most of the works are not even named.
Some are named but don't have any further information about them.
Without a guide you are just wandering around and getting pushed by the crowds.
The museum is overcrowded and there is no control on the amount of visitors.
The place could be a gem with a just little attention, but it is not!!

I had wanted to visit this site for decades and I was not disappointed. Well worth the trip. Easy to use local train from Sants or Passeig de Garcia. Return fare 32 Euros each with great views from the train.
The museum blows your mind with the variety & excentricity. In the main high room, cuploa or stage, of the building view the massive artwork on the left wall from many angles & distances. Then view it through your camera. The image comes our as 3 different scenes - a woman, Lincoln & Elton John. This was before I had a drink!
The variety in the rest of the museum beggars belief.
Good lunches in the central square as a break before the next sight. A world away from Barcelona & best done as a small group. Organise your self & beat the crowds.

What a great way to spend a morning with non-art loving teenage boys! Waited in line for around 15 minutes at 1030 but by lunchtime queues were too long for comfort. Will definitely go back as there was too much (and too crowded) to see all I wanted to see and definitely a challenge for those with limited mobility who would miss the Mae West instillation worth queing for. Not cheap for those of us who benefit from museums and art galleries being free but I certainly do feel it was worth paying for. I definitely benefited from overhearing a well informed English speaking guide hosting an educational tour for young people, who informed me that they don't provide guides for families/indiviudals which I think would be helpful for those like me who would like to experience it from a more informed position. ......
