We stumbled upon the restaurant after a long day arriving on Tenerife. It was almost the default choice as we tried to navigate our way around La Orotava's maze of one way streets in the dark and this was the first restaurant that we came across.

We were very glad that we did find it though as the food and the service were superb and such good value for money. I had the rabbit which I would not ordinarily consider, but was glad that I did as I was rewarded with an excellent meal. The rest of my party of 4 had different main courses, and all were extremely pleased with their choices.

We were so pleased with the restaurant that we booked it for another night during the holiday and were once again impressed with the quality of the food out of the kitchen and the warm and friendly service from the waiting staff.

Highly recommended for eating. I did not stay in the hotel so cannot comment on that.

I totally disagree with the previous comments. We have stayed in this hotel on 2 occasions and have no complaints. This is a 2* hotel which in my opinion functions at a much higher standard. To the previous comments...how many 2* hotels have you stayed in previously and received room service????? During our 2 visits we booked a superior room which had the added bonus of a furnished terrace where you could either sunbathe or sit and enjoy a few drinks. The service we received and the meals on offer were fantastic, ye the breakfast was basic but adequate, evening meals were excellent. If you are considering this hotel, do not let the previous comments put you off. La orotava is not a typical tourist resort but an authentic Canarian city

sadly this hotel did not live up to our expectations. Two weeks prior to booking the hotel we had seen it on a visit to La Orotava and was given a price list. We decided to book up for the corpus Christy flower festival by phone, however on arrival we were given another price which they agreed to reduce when we were staying for 2 nights. Room 101 needs decorating, TV needs repairing, lighting is dark bed needs a new mattress and it was extremely noisy. No room service or book telling us about the hotel. To get a hot drink we needed to go to the bar to purchase them. The breakfast was inedible ;- cold powdered egg, undercooked cold fatty bacon and lukewarm water to make our own tea no service at all. When we complained the manager informed us that this was our opinion made no apology or offer us the complaints books which he should have being the law of the land. We checked out after the first night ( price went up to the higher cost) and found a wonderful hotel the Alhambra where we will go back to again next year.

Room Tip: just don't stay there

My husband and I spent a very happy week at the Hotel Victoria last month. The staff, in particular Zaire who served at breakfast, were helpful, friendly and efficient. We met the chef, a lovely Scotsman who must also be mentioned for the wonderful food, beautifully presented and terrific value. Many non residents ate there in the evenings. All praise the hotel receives is well deserved and we would have no hesitation in visiting again.

Parking is an absolute nightmare, but do not let this deter you.
Town hotel in the old quarter of an historic town.
Large room, large bed ...but 2 wardrobes??? leaving no great space around. Small shower/bathroom.
Restaurant is first class even when the Senior Chef (a Scotsman) is on holiday.
Breakfast ok; the fruit juice is not fresh fruit.
The staff are so friendly and helpful.
We stayed 5 nights as part of a two centre walking holiday finishing Good Friday. Health warning! Holy week exacerbates parking problems as the old town is cleared of cars most days and evenings for Easter processions. Most impressive and very moving even for non-believers. It seems the whole population participates with full musical.

A very pleasant town hotel. The small staff here works incredibly hard and deliver excellent and friendly service. Apart from some confusion about our booking, everything was well organised. Our room was large and quiet, plainly decorated but very comfortable.
The chef is really good and dinners were enjoyable and good value.
Overall an excellent stay.

We stayed just three nights in a two-centre week. We seemed to get lucky with room 102 which, while it fronted the narrow one-way street, boasted a large private terrace with views of the sea in one direction and Mount Teide in the other.
The hotel is in an old building but is very well kept, the highpoint being the central open bar/restaurant area that is open to the sky (glazed) with plants and ferns. Food was excellent, more European cuisine than local and expensive by local standards.

Room Tip: Room 102 for the terrace!
