“Expensive for average quality”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Lunch here on Tuesday 10th sep . Tapas comprised very stale Canadian potatoes , greasy peppers de patron , v small portion prawns in ajillo , crab sticks for " crab salad" . Avoid , it's overpriced and almost everywhere in La Caletta is better .

“Pleasantly surprised.”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

A group of us ate here one lunchtime. The setting is great. Overlooking the ocean. Plenty of seating outside on the terrace, and nice feel to the restaurant inside. I have visited La Caleta many times over the years and never eaten here before. There is an excellent reasonably priced tapas menu and a good daily specials board as well as the regular menu. The wines are very reasonably priced for the area. There were 10 of us so we shared a selection of tapas to start with. Then 6 ordered the paella which was cooked to order and looked delicious. I opted for a sole which was cooked nicely. It was a very simple lunch with friends. One of my colleagues had a fillet steak which she said was delicious. There is something for everyone at this restaurant. Bonus.....they offer very good desserts!! and they brought us a small selection to "try" there was banoffee pie, tiramisu, cheesecake and creme caramel to name but a few. It was great to have homemade desserts for a change instead of the usual pre packed ones that most restaurants offer on Tenerife that always sadly let them down. Staff were attentive and friendly. We would definitely return.

“Superb, fresh tapas in the sun!”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

Sit outside and order tapas for a great evening! The tapas is freshly cooked and quickly delivered, and it is of a very high quality at reasonable cost. The aubergine is incredible! We found this to be a cheap way to eat high quality food in and expensive part of the world

“A poor night out”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

We went to dinner here after not visiting for some years.Nothing has changed.! We shared the starter an avocado with prawns.Ok.The fish Abadejo was ok but ruined by the waitress who tried to take it off the bone for us whilst chewing her gum.She butchered my husbands portion and managed to give me some fish, it was hopeless. The potatoes which are boiled in their skins in salt were old and stale. We complained, the owner apologised and bought us some more that we're exactly the same, all in all horrible.Since this restaurant is in La Caleta which has many good restaurants serving wonderful fish ,we don't understand the owners thinking. We had a ghastly night out having booked at the little tapas bar up the road who chose notto keep a table for us!Our advice go to Masia Del Mar aka Pisces, fantastic!cwe have never had a bad meal there, the service is great.Eduard the owner wonderful and Pedro the chef, brilliant.

“Great Fish and Cheap Wine”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Had some excellent fish here again. Having now eaten here on a number of occasions the fresh wild fish are the best. Sardines were good but the best was the Cherne, which I think is Stone Bass. We had a large one to share between two people, not only was great but it was less than 50 euros. The wine is good and cheap. Service efficient and friendly. The only puzzle is why it doesn't get more reviews. The sea view is great and we saw curlews feeding. And the Mojo sauces are also excellent. Starters not the same high standard.
