“Lovely holiday - exceeded expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

Just back from half term hols with hubby and 11 year old- we booked a couple of weeks before via Thomas Cook and could not fault them - rep Craig seemed to live at the hotel so always on hand and helpful! Staff at hotel were lovely and it was very clean. Could not fault the food - loads of choice. We hired a car for 3 days via Craig and explored the island and volcano. We were lucky with the weather and went to Siam park for a day ( nervous after reading poor reviews) but a brilliant day!! I thought it might be busy as it was half term but Craig advised we went on the Tuesday as this is one of the 'change over ' days so lots of people at the airport. So did not have to wait for rides and longest Q was about 8 people. We spent a couple of days at the hotel and preferred the pools at the sister hotel 5 mins away - some of the pools were warm enough and hubby and son spent ages in them whilst I sunbathed. Seemed to be lots for kids to do at the hotel if you did prefer to stay there in the day - entertainments staff always around and ridiculosly cheerful! My only complaint would be the poor quality and choice of the pool bar food - just burgers and hotdogs but that is being a bit picky! We didn't go to any of the entertainment - main acts started at 9.30 so a bit late for my son and he wouldn't be seen dead at the minidisco - we did sit in the bar area playing games which was nice.

ith plenty of varietyApprox half the coach from the airport where for our hotel, the queue to check in was therefore horrendous, it was very hot and it would have been good to have been offered a drink or to be directed to the pool bar for a cold drink. when we finally arrived in our room we then had to go back to reception to pay for a safety deposit box which should have all been done at check in. not once in our week did we see the terrace sunbathing area hosed down, it was a tad grubby with spilt drinks etc. Room was very dated but clean, the room towels were shocking though, hard, old and definitely not bath size. Food was very good though with plenty of variety which is more than I can say for the drinks, the cocktails were pre-mixed and horrid, my husband asked for a ginger ale to be told it was not on the all inclusive list. The hotel is by no means a fiive star and were it not for the staff would only rate 3 stars. They did the hotel proud, would we come back, it has to be a big resounding no!!!.

Room Tip: Request a sea vew, the sun is on the room all afternoon.

Lovely hotel with excellent rooms & service. Only quibble was entertainment which whilst good would be better in a room with tables rather than set out theatre style. Food was very good but could be kept a bit hotter. Staff helpful & pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask for third floor

Dear Guests,

Thank you for your time in writing about Bahía Príncipe Tenerife Hotel.

We appreciate your positive comments on the hotel facilities, the quality of food and the helpful and friendly staff.

We have also taken note of your feedback on the food temperature and the distribution of the chairs in Salon Tropicana, but we think its capacity will be considerably reduced.

Hoping to have you back in Bahía Príncipe.

Wanted a little sun in January . Did a lot of research, have been to Tenerife many times 5years ago, but the hotel we used changed managers so not so good for us!
This hotel was excellent , when we arrived we were given a room which was very dark, so we asked if we could have another, the staff made this possible without a supplement , we were very happy with the ground floor room. Room was very spacious , only thing we did not like were the swing doors in the bathroom shielding the loo, but we tied them back with a couple of luggage belts, job done,
The food was very good as with all the inclusive drinks,( just wish they would serve the red wine at room temp instead of out the fridge) service around the hotel was of a very good standard, very helpful.
It is a shame that the adult pool was not heated as I really like to swim, I did try, but not for me or anybody else as did not see anyone else venture in!

It sounds as if I am very picky , I am , but would certainly go back to this hotel again. Previous reviews said this hotel was remote, yes it is , but easy accessible with taxis or buses. Rather this as lovely and quite, to recharge your batteries.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for your comments about your great and relaxing holiday in Bahía Príncipe Tenerife.
We are pleased to hear that the Reception quickly offered to a different room to your satisfaction and that you found it spacious and nice. We apologise for the swing doors.

In relation to the swimming-pools, the resort has five different adult pools and two of them (one in each hotel) are heated to 26º.

We hope to welcome you again in the near future for another relaxing holiday.
Best Regards,

Just returned from half term break Feb 2013. Firstly our only reason for booking this hotel was that the pool in our brochure was advertised as "Heated". Upon arrival and testing the "Heated" pool we found it to be very cold and I personally could only stand approx 2 minutes in the pool for the duration of our stay. This was very disappointing. Our room was nice and clean but the bed was so hard and uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on the floor and after one night I spent the rest of the week sleeping on the sofa bed.

The beach which was advertised as being 500m away was very misleading. More of a rocky inlet than a beach. The waves come crashing in and it would be dangerous to let your kids play near the waters edge. The kids entertainment is good but the room used for this is not well set up for kids entertainment. Some nights the mini disco is done on the stage which is a bit dangerous for toddlers as there is a big drop at the edge. If the later entertainment is a band then the stage is not used and instead the mini disco takes place in a aisle between the seats as there is no other area. This is ridiculous as one night there was about 50 kids and toddlers trying to dance in an area about 2 meters wide.

You are asked not to reserve sunbeds but this is not enforced. Most of the sunbeds have towels placed on them by 8am, they are then not really used until the sun comes over the pool at about 11am. All nationalities were doing this.

The hotel is in a remote location. The hotel shops are therefore very pricey as it seems that there is nowhere else to buy. However there is a small shopping strip in close by Playa Paraiso. Head for what look like 4 tower blocks in the distance, the strip runs between them selling the usual souvenirs, sunblock alcohol etc.

The food was excellent all holiday and I can not fault it. The drinks were ok, but the cocktails were awful as they were all so sweet they were un-drinkable.

If you like going to a hotel and not leaving the grounds for the duration of your stay then I think this is an ok hotel. I personally like to have a wander about and see some of the place where I am visiting which is why I really did not enjoy this hotel.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for having chosen Bahía Príncipe Tenerife to spend your recent half term holidays.

We are very glad that you liked our excellent food & beverage and the cleanliness of the hotel grounds and rooms.

We are sorry if other aspects of your stay in our hotel such as the location have not really met your expectations. We would like to inform you that we have two daily shuttle buses to Las Américas and a public bus which runs every half an hour from the top of the hotel. Besides, there are always taxis available at the entrance of the hotel.

As regards the evening entertainment, we would like to inform you that it has been now moved to Pueblo Príncipe square and it will be held there for the rest of the year. Pueblo Príncipe is a large open air area with plenty of space for adults and children. However, due to the weather conditions, we prefer to move the entertainment indoors to Salon Tropicana for two or three months in the winter.

Thank you once again for visiting us and best regards from Tenerife,

Nélida Palacios de Luis

If you want to recharge your batteries in great surroundings, then this is the place to go.
Unbeatable value for money. The food is amazing, so much too choose from and all beautifully cooked and presented. Also a choice if 5 different al a cart resturants, 3 nights included in a weeks all inclusive stay. Will definately be back.

Dont listen to any poor reviews (if there are any) my family and I have stayed in may different resorts in the spanish islands and this is the best todate. The service was fantastic as was the food quality and variation, wine and facilities.
We are already looking at booking for next year, if I was to have a consideration it would be the location which is not as close to Costa Adeje as we were lead to believe, however there is a fantastic bus service which will take you into the town in 15 minutes and using the same bus 472 or 473; then on to Americas' and Los Christianos! you can use a taxi but the return fare on the bus is less than the one way fare of a taxi.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent, we had a ground floor pool room but due to the service available we wou...
