From the start, we were greeted by friendly, helpful, efficient staff. The hotel is clean, spacious, and elegant. There are two poolside bars and a restaurant - all serving fresh imaginative food. The main restaurant was slick with delicious food and an abundance of choice. The evening entertainment wont be to everyone's taste but it is situated away from the bar area so you can escape if necessary and anyway, it was all good fun - especially Elvis! We had one week of pure bliss and would go back again. Tomorrow.

Room Tip: A room at the front of the hotel will give you spectacular sunset views.

Just returned from a week at this hotel. Following advice on Tripadvisor I emailed hotel and requested room with full sea view which we got, fantastic views of evening sunset. Hotel itself is clean and well cared for. Swimming pools and gardens were lovely. Staff very efficient, helpful and friendly, seemed very keen to help out on any occasion. Krystal restaurant was quiet, a small menu with excellent food, good for a change of rhythm. Buffet restaurant was excellent (and I don't normally like buffets). Menu changed every evening, Breakfast also very good. Situated in a nice quiet corner of Costa Adeje with a few bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance either way. One day we did walk towards Playa de las Americas and I am so glad we did not stay further towards this area. If you are part of a stag group it maybe fun, but not for me. A trip to Tiede and the national park is a must. It's not beautiful, but awe-inspiring.
I did take my running shoes and ran every day along beside the sea, never seen so many joggers all out running, certainly didn't feel lonely. Beware of the sun, it was very hot while we were there and even when cloudy you can get sunburnt - use that cream.

This was our first visit to a RIU Hotel and we imagine it won't be our last. Everything about the hotel was perfect - attentive and happy staff, excellent food, beautifully maintained grounds & buildings and a super seaside location. The food in the main (buffet) restaurant was of a high standard - always freshly cooked and with a great variety on offer. Presentation was also very good. One minor quibble - absence of fresh orange juice at breakfast.
The evening entertainment in the hotel ''nightclub'' was very good, with an excellent resident band and some interesting guest artists.
We had a wonderful, relaxing week in a very well-managed hotel.

We booked this break as a last minute decision to escape the poor English weather. From checking in to leaving we found the staff friendly and really helpful. We found the head waiter very efficient and helpful too. He obviously keeps a tight ship! Food was fantastic, great choice at breakfast and dinner. We emailed the hotel to request a pool view and we were not disappointed. Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone, and will hopefully return soon!

Havig visited this establishment many times, including when it first opened and it was a proper "palace class" hotel we have seen things decline especially the food. On our visit at July things were better and the friendly staff where right up there with the best and the head of the restaurant was the only grumpy person. Well this time I can report the staff are all back to being 100% committed to ensuring you have a good holiday and will help in any way they can and they are back to their joking having fun days, which I think is a good sign of happy staff.
The food in the restaurant is better than it has been for several years and whilst not as good as the first few years the hotel was open, it was in improvement on recent years and a step in the right direction. With one or two more changes both to the breakfast buffet and evening meal options it could be a top thompsons hotel again. Breakfast was what it always has been in recent years but changes like real ham on a morning, rather than the watery plastic stuff was on offer for 4 of the days each week, the menu's were more varied on an evening and whilst there was some repition it was not the same thing every night and the presentation was better making dinner a bit more of a spectical. Time will tell how the new menu's and single portion presentation continues to be developed and how everyone reacts, but for us it was a big improvement.
The pool and poolside staff were as they always are friendly and always about when you want to order a drink or some food.
No big issue with beds being reserved or people fighting for beds, may have been the time of year and the fact the hotel was not full, but beds around the pool were generally available all day as people came and went and only a few left towels down all day and did not use the beds.
Pool was kept clean and the sun bed area was washed down everynight and the pool staff spent large parts of the day sweeping and cleaning the sunbed areas.
wifi in the bar area only failed one day and the rest of the time it was not bad, speed varied depending on the types of pages being loaded but it was nice to have free internet at last and the bar staff do not bother you if you are not wanting a drink.
All in all we had a great break even though the weather was a bit iffy and would be happy to pay the extra to stay at the palace rather than the arecas, we check their menues one night and they were different to the palace and not as good.
So as the heading says things are improving and here one punter that hopes it continues and we will certainly be returning.

Room Tip: ask for a room on any floor numbered between 25 to 40 and add the floor number infront of these numbers if you want a good sea view with a pool view as well. Rooms ending in the number 32 & 33 are in the centre
