We eat in El Mago during a recent visit to Costa Adeje. This restaurant is hidden away above a busy ground floor restaurant ran by someone else. It is easy to believe that both these restaurants are one in the same. They are NOT. It is situated at San Eugenio just down from the Hovima Panorama on the sea front. We chose the house specialty slow roast lamb with Canarian potatoes as a share plate for two. The meal was tremendous and the lamb was tender. The restaurant offers great views and you can watch the sun go down whilst sipping wine. This was the best food we ate during our entire stay on the island.
This restaurant is well worth a visit. Enjoy.

We came here following TripAdvisor recommendations. Food was very good and the service was very very friendly, specially with our children. And yes, view is beautiful in the evening!

We walked from the Sheraton Hotel specifically to El Mago's (2.1/4 miles) based on TA reviews and so glad we did. Firstly, important tip is to walk up the ramp on the side of the building because El Mago's is upstairs. As we walked up the El Mago's ramp, we got ushered to sit in the ground floor ......which is a completely different restaurant! - the waiter clearly knew he was taking us away from El Mago's and took advantage of our unfamiliarity of the area but thankfully we realised and exited the table before ordering.
Anyway, El Mago's was fantastic. Rustic place, staff are warming and make every effort and with ease, to ensure you have a lovely dining experience.
There were 2 of us - We had one starter, for main the fish paella (serves2), a Ltr red sangria and 2 Irish coffees @ total €57 and a complimentary aperitif. Really Recommend this restaurant.

We choose El Mago when we found Carlos restaurant closed, we were not disappointed. Friendly quick service, great choice on the menu which was reasonably priced. Great portion sizes and food tasted great, we had paella & rack of ribs. The restaurant wasn't busy when we visited at 8pm. Worth a visit, make sure you go upstairs and not to the other restaurant on the ground floor

My wife and I were just passing this restaurant and couldn't help but notice a full restaurant when nearby were lacking customers so we just got a table. It was so good we went three times and gave up on the queue on the fourth attempt. The portions were BIG and the food very tasty. On one visit we ordered the mixed grilled fish for two, I was hungry but it beat me and we could have fed a family of four at least! The service was quite quick considering the packed restaurant. I had a look into the kitchen and the chefs were rushing around like crazy. It is well worth the wait for the food but if you want a meal quickly and aren't fussed about what you eat go to a Mac Donalds!!
