Posada La Sacristia
Ranked #10 of 34 Tarifa B&B and Inns
Reviewed May 15, 2013

Excellent location in the old town. Helpful and friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, clean and nicely styled rooms. Yes, they are small, but in an old building in the town centre, that's to be expected. No lift, and our room was on the top floor, but that didn't bother us, and we'd happily stay here again if we were in Tarifa.

Dear customer,

many thanks for your feedback about our hotel. This staff is very thankful for your positive comments.
I am very pleased you mention that we are in an old building in the centre of Tarifa, in a historical building, and a lift would be an aggression to it. Many thanks for this comment that can help others. We must remember that we are in the midst of Tarifa and all buildings have got a great caracter and personality. Lots of technological items destroy the soul of the place.
No mention that whenever you come back to Tarifa, we would like to see you back in our hotel.
Kind regards and many thanks.

This is a beautiful, tranquil spot right in the middle of Old Town, but down a small alley, so quiet during the night. Lounge/restaurant with very chilled atmosphere, to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine. Outstanding customer service and friendliness! Rooms are well decorated, bathrooms very small, but also nicely decorated. Only thing is, a bit noisy between the rooms and between the room and the hallwall (old house and doors), so if you're a light sleeper yoou might have to ask for a special quiet room (if they exist), however during our short stay, this was not a problem. Would definitely recommend and is good value!

Posada La Sacristia is a nice b&b located in the heart of the old town of Tarifa.
It is an old building that has been recentely renovated, but that has been able to mantain all its old charm, with a little taste of Morocco.

The room was very nice and clean, even if a little bit small. Furthermore there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom.

Breakfast was included, but it wasn't nothing special.

The staff was very nice and professional.

(If you go to Tarifa by car you have to look for a parking slot as the hotel has no park)

This is a lovely "guesthouse" (but not like any B&B I've stayed in before), its got character charm etc. We were upgraded for free to a suite which is not part of the main hotel which sounds terrifying but it was beautiful. We both had a Reiki massage which is provided in a treatment room at the top of the hotel and to be honest that was worth the money on its own. All in all we had a wonderful time and would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only gripe if the weekend menu in the restaurant is so severally restricted we just didnt bother. Not a disaster as the hotel is in the centre of town and thus surrounded by restaurants and bar (but its in a quite side street so no blaring music).

Apreciado cliente,

Saludos cordiales.

We booked this hotel via booking.com at an excellent rate of 70 euros for two including breakfast.

The hotel is located in the heart of the Old Town in Tarifa and would appear to be an old Moorish Town House. There are ten rooms and the only drawback is there is no lift. We understand that there are excellent views fom the top rooms. My wife has a bit of difficulty in walking but she managed up to the first floor ok where there are four bedrooms.

We had quite the best welcome we have ever received in Spain. Our room had been newly renovated. The hotel manager apologised that it had been recently painted. This did not bother us as it was much more preferable to the smell of smoking which can welcome you in certain hotel bedrooms in Spain. However, he insisted that he brought us a bottle of wine to compensate for this very minor inconvenience. The room was large enough with good Moorish furniture which combined well with a state of the art flat screen TV. Free internet was a welcome bonus.

Although we went out for a meal the hotel provides excellent value evening meals. The continental breakfast the next morning was excellent. Good fruit juices, coffee, Spanish ham and cheese and good breads.

Recommended. We would not hesitate to stay here again. My only negative is a nearby church whose bells chime every quarter hour!

Room Tip: Top floor room for a good view.

We loved la Sacristia. We have a nice, comfortable room on the top floor with a small courtyard to sit in. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was amazing, and there were thick plush towels to use following. The staff went out of their way to help us and were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was simple but very fresh and tasty. The sitting area in the main entry was a nice place to enjoy a drink and relax in the evening. La Sacristia is a short 5 min walk to the port to catch a ferry to Tangier, and situated a short walk from shops and bars. Loved it here and would come back again to stay next time we are in Tarifa. Would have liked to have stayed longer to learn kite surfing.

Posada La Sacrista is exquisitely furnished and a great place to spend time. We had a room on the top floor, which was airy, light and bright. The bar/breakfast area has a really great ambiance and the staff were very helpful and eager to please. Tarifa is a very relaxing place to spend a couple of days with a great (though windy) beach.
