Friendly staff, clean private rooms. Good location. 30Euro/night w/o breakfast. Pity there was no kitchen, common room or tea making facilities. Its a bit impersonal but fine if you are just in town for kiting.

This hostal in Tarifa is a good deal, it has clean rooms and the beds are pretty standard. It was about a ten minute walk from here to the port or from the hostal to the bus. My recommendation for travel out of Tarifa is to buy your bus ticked early (if you want the direct bus) because the first bus if the day seems to sell out. The front desk staff was really helpful.

We stayed here in Sept 2011 primarily as a staging for a day trip to morocco. The Hostal was somewhat shabby, but clean, not particularly quiet and the bed was pretty much standard hard Euro mattress. It was located just outside of old town, but very easy to walk to the dock to catch the ferry. Or walk to old town to get food. Like I said in the title good enough for two nights of jut sleeping and cant beat the price.
About Tarifa: be warned, the wind is CRAZY! There is a reason it is a windsurfing mecca!

The hotel is in a different location that the map generated when we booked (otherside of the main road). The location is otherwise good as Tarifa is small. Five minutes to the bus station and five again in the other direction to the ferry.

The hotel seems new, the staff spoke English well and the wifi was good. The room was generally clean although the toilet wasn't cleaned when we arrived.

We booked for a double and we were given two single beds pushed together which was disappointing (although I was suffering from man flu and therefore didn't mind too much).  Rest assured I recovered successfully to continue my travels.

Fair choice if staying on the way through to the ferry or bus.

Our challenge was finding rooms in Europe that could sleep my husband, our daughter and me. This place did it quite comfortably. It is very, very basic, but we found it to be a pleasant surprise. Were a little concerned with the name "hostal," but it is more like a hotel. Had our own bathroom w/ shower. Walking distance to places to eat, plus to the ferry terminal. Yes, we recommend a day trip to Morocco. (We bought our ferry tickets the day before departure.) Had our own car and found free parking on the street near hotel. Easy, quick drive to the beach. Large grocery store near beach - convenient to grab some bottled water, fruit and snacks.

This hostel is about five minutes’ walk from the old town of Tarifa, and seven or eight minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal to get to Morocco.

Our bedroom was on the first floor and much like a good, budget hotel room – large, big comfortable bed, plenty of places to put things, large bathroom and a nice shower with good pressure, soap and shampoo supplied. Wifi was free, with a strong connection, and there was also a TV but we didn’t turn it on.

The girl who checked us in was friendly and professional.

For the price we paid it was extremely good value.

This is a guesthouse.

At the rate we paid, we were pleased with the cleanliness, the size of our double-private ensuite room, free WIFI in the room, good shower and bath. We had no problem with communication in simple English.

From Las Margaritas, it is an easy 5 - 10 minute walk to the old city centre, and the fabulous Cafe Azul (for lovely fresh breakfasts).

Las Margaritas is highly recommended if you're looking for budget place with more privacy than a hostel.
