Great hotel for the money. Don't be confused by the term Hostal this is a hotel. Good location just out of the old town area. Shower and beds were great. They also had underground parking which was nice also. If you can get a deal on the net to include brakfast and parking you will be way a head.

I would go back.

Room Tip: Room not facing the street will be better if road noise is a issue.

This Hostal, is not really what you would think of as a Hostal. It's really just a hotel and a wonderful one at that! It's so clean and such a great price you should really consider it if you are visiting Tarifa. The rooms are a decent size and have all that you need. They have parking under the hotel which is such a great thing to have if you have a rental car. The breakfast is fairly basic but very nicely done. They have coffee, pastries, fruit and juices available for purchase. It's convenient to have this within the hotel. The location is great for visiting all of the old town, the beach and for catching the ferry to Morocco. Well worth a stay!

To stay at this Hostel is like living a Soap Opera with Audio only……
The construction of it whilst being relatively new and modern is basically, concrete, cement and Tile, it has nothing to absorb or deaden any sounds, so unfortunately you hear all that the other residents in rooms near to yours are doing. This includes the couple who made me feel almost inadequate, until when I saw them, I realised the age difference between them possibly explained the audio exaggeration as being in the ‘Am I impressing you’ department. However the 2.20am sound of the gentleman impersonating Niagara Falls together with the 3am wakeup call as our neighbour was being ill in his bathroom, the 3.45am clunk, clunk, slip of the drunken stiletto heel wearer returning home, joining forces with the never ending door banging contest that was only interrupted by the constant flushing of the toilet system and the subsequent sound of rushing water means sleep is not the easiest thing to do at Hostel Tarifa……..
The Underground Car Parking, if you can get it, is well worth the cost as it really does make life easier on arrival, departure and any jaunts out you may have during your stay.
The Breakfast is simply not worth the discomfort of sitting up on the stools at the small high tables, you can sit outside in an enclosed court yard but not when it’s as windy as we had it. Breakfast consisted of: 1 x Coffee, a croissant OR Pain au chocolat OR a toasted baguette, an apple and a natural yogurt all served by a very nice happy polite young girl or someone not so polite, happy or young…….
The location is ideal as it’s on a main road, meaning it is easily found and the road is well lit at night, however come 8am the windows will have to be closed otherwise the noise from the traffic and the bar across the road will start your day off in a less than invigorating manner…… That said we did see some of the other Hostel’s and they are in the darker grubbier back streets with little or no chance of parking……..
The Hostel and your room is spotlessly clean but personally I would prefer the wash basin to be in the bathroom rather than the actual bedroom. The bathroom, I would add has a great powerful shower to help clear that ‘I want to go back to sleep, I need more sleep’ feeling…
The wifi did work well in the room and there were sufficient power points… but the beds appeared to have a waterproof mattress protector on so subsequently when you were fretfully tossing and turning, you made a peculiar rubber squeaking noise.....
Would I stay again, No! not if it had other guests..... the sleep deprivation over the three nights we stayed is simply not conducive to a pleasant relaxing break.
Special mention however has to be made of the receptionist on duty when we arrived, she was the most helpful, happy, polite and friendly person we met during the whole trip, unlike her replacement………
.
Ps: After two nights, we gave in and joined the night time flusher's………

Room Tip: Get a room on the top floor, at least then the water flushing can only go one way.......

The Hostel Tarifa is very basic. It's on an easy to find though nondescript street. We found it very clean, it has comfy beds, it has wifi, the staff are very friendly, it has secure parking (€10 pd), and is excellently positioned for the old town, port and beaches. It not charming, you won't fall in love with it, but if you can't afford better, stay here.

Great location. You can park the car on the streets nearby. The hotel is new but unfortunately someone next to my room snored the entire night,it sounded as if he(she) were right next to me
Tarifa is a lovely town to walk & spend a few days..

Perfect choice for anyone. Not fancy, but VERY, VERY clean! Place is really new. Had everything we wanted, but a hairdryer. Even had an English tv channel. Hotel staff speaks broken English, BUT very helpful. They beyond try to assist you. Don't be fooled by the word Hostal in the name, Definitely not a hostel! Parking and wifi were perfect.

The Hostal Tarifa was really a good choice in Tarifa.
It is a new building, with nice rooms and the possibility of free parking on the street in front of the hotel.
On the other hand, this hotel is only a few minutes walk from the historic city center and a little more of the port.
For me it was the perfect choice for a ride to Tangier.
A place to return...
