Lovely hotel, nice staff and despite the wind Tarifa is known for the pool is well sheltered and you don't feel it too much when relaxing by the pool. Also the adults pool is perfect for some peaceful silence! If you go then you must take a wee walk up the beach (north) there is some beautiful dunes and sandy secluded beaches, amazing. Also I went horse riding all week and the horses were lovely, well mannered/behaved. Best beach hack and hill hack!

The Hurricane is a wonderful boutique hotel in Tarifa, great location situated above the beach, it is stylish and homely at the same time, it is everything you could want except for the arrogant useless staff and lack of them.
The staff were so unfriendly and rude that we moved hotel and went to the sister hotel further along the road where the staff were kind friendly and helpful. Thank Goodness for the Punta Sur.

Gorgeous small hotel, wonderful terrace for great buffet breakfast and great dinners, overlooking a beautiful pool and out to sea. Great beach bar too, and loved the 'no kids' pool! Very chilled, relaxing spot with friendly, low-key staff. It's a 2 star/key property in the Spanish rating system - but has to be one of the best in this category. Will definitely be back.

Tarifa is the southest town in Spain. Beautiful beaches Warm from april till october and usually windy. Most people go there for surfing. I went to cross the Straits of Gibraltar swimming. The Hurricane Hotel strikes you just on your arrival. Small in size but well proportioned. Your first dinner at the one of the most cozy and beautiful terraces I have been will catch your heart in less than two seconds. The food will also captivate you since it is one of the best places to eat in tarifa. Rooms are simple but with a touch of class and do mot ask for a TV. most of the rooms don't have it. But you will not need it. The service is wonderful since they are most of them from the area and they are kind and helpful. My five days at the hotel until I have crossed the Strait of Gibraltar swimming have been delightful.

What a fabulous relaxing spot.
The charming Jose Maria welcomed us at check in. It was straight forward and quick no waiting around we found our room easily and were very happy with it.
Then we wandered through the gardens to a peaceful pool with only the sound of the waves.
After chilling out here we returned to our room and had powerful hot showers before heading down the garden to watch the sunset and a glass of wine from the beach bar.
Dinner was set up outside and looked amazing with candles and lighting hidden behind trees.
Ravioli seafood was nicely priced at €10 and was delicious. The T bone steak was huge and also fantastic.

My only problem was leaving... I could have stayed for weeks!!! I'll definitely return. We enjoyed our anniversary here and hope to enjoy many more but also try more water sports and not so much of the Spanish wines. Although the breakfast in the morning cleared away any cobwebs.

Thanks to all the staff for our delightful stay and also for showing us the suites on departure as you never know we might upgrade for the next visit.

Hasta luego : ))

Beautiful views at this hotel, BUT I would NOT return as they are rude and very unwelcoming to guests....I thought this was a hotel that caters to travelers. There are plenty of wonderful other hotels to enjoy with friendly staff.

This is the second time that I've stayed at this hotel. I would highly recommend it for the wonderful views, romantic evening settings, gardens and also the magnificent food! A superb breakfast with lots of lovely fresh fare and the lunch at the beach bar is very good value with super fresh salads. The evening dinner though is superb and I would recommend to anyone, even if they weren't staying at the hotel to got here for dinner. The food was delicious!

However, the menu was only in Spanish and although I speak Spanish, many guests there didn't and the staff were quite rude and unhelpful when they were asked to explain what things were.

The rooms are very basic, with no tv, which actually didn't bother me at all, although my boyfriend was a bit miffed! The bathrooms are nice though and in general the rooms are kept clean.

As I've said above, the one downfall for this hotel is that most of the staff, particularly the older gentleman at reception and another one of the female staff were very very gruff, bordering on rude at times. This really isn't good enough no matter how popular your hotel is. A smile and happy face doesn't cost much!
