Took about 90 minutes drive from San Pedro to this beach, but it was worth it. A beautiful sandy and breezy beach about ten miles long at least! Lovely clear and shallow water. Some beach side cafes to get a quick bite and drink. Some stalls to buy trinkets etc. Recommend the pastries being sold on the beach, listen out for the bell being rung. Gets busy after lunch.

The beach is fantastic, nice soft sand and very long so once you get away from the busy area outside the apartments and beach bars you have lots of space.
There is a large naturist beach which starts to the left of the beach bars and continues all the way down to the natural pools of El Chorrito where you can find mud which you mix with water and cover yourself with. It is a long walk to El Chorrito, about 3km, and it's difficult enough through the dunes but worth it for a visit.
We felt the beach was let down by the number of dogs running around. We saw very few leads and plenty of dogs in very poor condition (open sores, matted fur etc.). We witnessed a dog urinating on a sleeping beach goer, countless owners shouting repeatedly for their dogs to return and countless dogs barking for long periods of time.
The beach has no showers, toilets or sunbeds.

It can be very windy, but it is a very special beach to spend the day in with your family. Just ask how strong the wind is going to be before going there.

Spent the entire day on Bolonia beach, wonderful. The restaurant hires beach beds for 4 euro a day and then deducts the price from your bill if you eat there....we did and both were just excellent

This dune is a real gem! The beach leading to the dune is beautiful, water is crystal clear and there is a lot of free space for everyone to set up on the sand. Do climb to the top - views are breathtaking! It's quite exhausting stroll, but definitely worth its effort. Tip: take some water with you before going up! Ps. the ancient ruins nearby are not that must-see.
