I have now eaten in what I consider the fourth Proper Restaurant in Nerja. Many "restaurants" reviewed in Nerja on Trip Advisor are really fast food joints or Tapas Bars. Sollun is a restaurant in every sense of the word with well prepared and presented food accompanied by impeccable service. The chef is very good indeed. He also makes excellent wine recommendations to accompany the dishes ordered from a small but encompassing menu. His fish of the day was fresh grouper which two of us ordered for the main course. We voted our choice the best selection of the evening.

We will go again.

There is seating inside but on a warm September night we chose to eat outside at the back which was a sort of labyrinthe courtyard with high whitewashed walls so made for a very intimate setting especially with the sun setting, table candles and wall-lights.

The chef/owner is very hands-on and came several times during the evening to our table and others to advise on the menu etc.

The meal commenced with a delightful amuse-bouche, which the chef explained and was delicious. Bread was also served with an extremely fine olive oil from Jaen.

The menu offers a good selection of dishes, plus a tasting menu. The wine list is quite extensive.

One ordered a starter of micuit de pato foie gras €14. For mains one had fillet steak €23 and the other had lamb €24. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented.

We chose a bottle of red wine, but because it was never left on the table by the waitress I cannot recall what it was, except that it was rather pricey at €29. Also the wine came to the table already opened. For a wine costing €29 plus IVA we would have preferred a bit of "theatre" with the wine being opened at the table 3 small gins and one bottle of tonic came to €18.

IVA is added on top (we do however prefer that restaurants show prices inclusive of IVA). With a bottle of sparkling water the bill for two came to €120.

We had the pleasure of visiting Sollun yesterday evening. We have read many positive review about Sollun on TA and decided to give it a try - we didn't regret. We were greeted by the chef hilsenf and presented the menu and wine-card. The wine card is impressive and the chef will always recommend you the perfect wine for your dish. The menu card is limited (meant in a very positive way - I prefer a few good dishes instead of 100 bad ones) and all courses are excellent cooked and presented. We decided to do À la carte, however Sollun also offers a tasting menu where you get a starter, a fish and a meat dish. Every dish that arrived at our table was presented to us and thoroughly explained! It is definitely not the last time that we will visit Sollun, and it's understandable why it is one of Nerja's top restaurants.

The food in this restaurant is very good and fully deserving it's michelin bib gourmand.I would have given this eaterie full marks but for a couple of discrepancies.First.my wife had the loin of lamb, except rather than just the loin it came as bits of loin, bits of rump and a couple of ribs which is not what she was expecting. My duck liver pate for starters was first rate, whilst my main of suckling pig, which was good, was a little lacking in its delivery, only being served with some rather rustic mash potato. On the flipside,my daughter had scallops and cockles(out of shells) in a lemongrass broth which was exquisite. She followed this with veal sweetbreads which were as good as any i've had in the many michelin restaurants i have eaten in.All desserts were top notch.Good to see a wine list covering the many regions beyond the obvious(rioja etc) with many artisinal producers.Service is good with the chef/patron acting as front of house, menu adviser and sommelier to boot.A good restaurant, along with Bakus, one of the top two in Nerja.

We visited Sollun for the first time and had a great meal. The service was fantastic. Juan the chef was very helpful in his suggestions both in food and wine. The food was beautifully presented and innovative in style. This is not a cheap restaurant but is very good value for money. We will be happy to visit again.
