“Good Value Hotel in lovely Spanish town.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

We spent a lovely week at Los Arcos Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we felt that they tried to make us feel individuals, e.g. by asking how our trip was to the Alhambra, which the receptionist helped us arrange. The hotel is clean and comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing quietly by the pool. The luxury tapas in the hotel is excellent and very good value at 15 euros. The breakfast was basic continental and we felt they hadn't grasped "Full English", but we were in Spain. The hotel is at the top of a hill, so expect a steep 15 minute walk back from Burriana beach. There was an hourly bus into the town, 1euro, which picked up from outside the hotel. The town is delightful and we hired sunbeds on the beach and there were so many good places to eat. We felt we had found two gems in Nerja and the Los Arcos Hotel.

Just returned from a very relaxing week in the Los Arcos Nerja. Stayed in a good sized superior room which had a private large balcony. This hotel is very clean, has a friendly receptionist and hard working bar staff. Go to this hotel if your looking for a clean, small and friendly hotel in a town which has managed to retain its Spanish charm.

The travel-company was absolute right for making this hotel a last relaxing day in the sun of our 10 day trip through Andalusia. In Grenada we left at 11 AM with 13 degrees and rain, and at 1 PM we sat on our balcony in the full sun in 22 degree in Nerja. The hotel is very basic, but location is good as the service and price. In 5 minutes walk you reach the cosy beach for sunbathing or diner. A main annoyance however was that the Internet for us was not functioning and the reception said they could not do anything about it, so we could not check in our return-flight on our desk-top.

Location is out of town but we had a car so it was not a problem with it being less than 5 minute drive to the various beaches and the old town. It is in an elevated position with distant views out to the sea. It has quite a pleasant outlook.

Our room was quite large, very clean, air-conditioned and a ceiling fan. Our room #201 was wonderful and had a terrific large balcony with 2 sun lounges and a table and chairs In room safe had a cost of 2 Euro a day. Internet is available but only in the cocktail lounge (not in the room as said on our receipt, “in room internet via modem or Wifi in foyer, cocktails are”.

Breakfast was included but if not, was 4 euro’s per day per person. We originally booked for 2 days (breakfast included) and then extended our stay. The breakfast was not good enough to warrant the 4 Euros each
.
The swimming pool area is very nice and it seemed to have sufficient sun lounges. The pool is positioned to make the most of the sun so you shouldn’t have any problem in getting enough sun for a tan.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant, which looked OK, having an open court feel, but did enjoy their half price drinks during happy hour.

The staff were very helpful, very nice and made our stay an around good experience.

The pool, price, friendly staff and inclusions meant that even with no room WiFi or in room internet, we would still consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Room #201 is very large and includes a large bacony.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights 22nd September, with my Parents who have been on three previous occasions. My parents arrived the day before us and requested a room next to them. As the room was occupied, they put us in another room and assigned us the room the following day once the other guests have left.

This Superior room (204) was ready by 10am enabling us to move and get settled before we left to go out for the day. The room was on the second floor, was large with a small fridge adequate for bottled water and milk, a kettle and a safe (chargeable). We had a balcony looking up towards the mountains, which had two sun loungers, 2 chairs and a table, and also an outdoor shower. The bathroom was of adequate size, however I did find the shower very slippery, being 5 months pregnant, the maids provided a non-slip mat for me to use in the shower. The rooms are also extremely well soundproofed, I never heard the couples either side of us the entire time we were there.

Being a small hotel we found the staff to be so attentive and helpful. Alicia on the reception goes out of her way to ensure that guest’s requests are met and she is such a friendly face. Breakfast was included in our rate; there was fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, bread rolls, cheese, ham, salami, croissants, toast, sausages, beans, bacon and eggs. There were also a couple of different types of Spanish pastry or cakes.

The pool area is lovely, with plenty of sun loungers for enjoying the Spanish sunshine and it was so peaceful. On the days spent relaxing by the pool we enjoyed sandwiches for lunch, very reasonably priced and yummy, however did not eat in the Hotel restaurant as we ventured out in to the town in the evenings. The bar is well stocked and serves various types of cocktails and smoothies, and has happy hour from 5-8pm daily. My Husband was happy as he was able to sit out the front of the hotel with cold beer and English football.

This is the smallest hotel my Husband and I have ever stayed in and not knowing the area we were a little worried that we’d feel a little secluded, however Burriana beach was a 15 minute walk down hill, or a 7/8 Euro taxi drive if you couldn’t cope with the climb back up. The Balcon de Europe was fantastic on the warm Spanish evenings for sitting enjoying dinner and watching the local people. There is also a large supermarket about a 5 minute walk from the Hotel.

With regards to the hotel I can’t stress enough how friendly they are, and they all work so hard, a big thank you to all of the staff for making our stay so fabulous. We plan to come back next September and will need a room for the travel cot. Keep up the hard work, we look forward to our return!

Room Tip: All rooms on the east side have good veiws, the 3 rooms on the north side look out over the pool and...

We booked this hotel quite last minute prior to joining a cruise in Malaga. What a great little place this is! Arrived about 11.30pm and the small car park was full, when we asked at check in where to park she went in to the bar and got someone from the bar who was not resident to move!!! We had a superior room and would recommend to anyone to do this. Quite a big room which was lovely and clean, with all facilities including a good sized fridge. The balcony area was huge with sun beds and shower!! Pool area was lovely, and so peaceful. Happy hour was very busy and apparently locals use this a lot, but it made for a good atmosphere. The adjoining restaurant was excellent and very good value.
Downsides were perhaps the location as it was slightly out of town but we were aware of this. The other thing was the breakfast area and choice which I know that a lot of people have mentioned, the area was extremely small and congested and seemed a bit chaotic in lay out and with a bit of thought could be greatly improved, but don't let this put you off.
We visited the Nerja caves which were fabulous and also the town of Frigliana . We would recommend this hotel.

We stayed for a week at the end of Sept. The rain came down in torrents in the last 2 days but despite this we had a great holiday. We found the staff very helpful and friendly, even through the evening chaos of"happy hour".
I dont see what people find to complain about at breakfast, there is enough choice for most people.
The bedrooms are spacious clean and comfortable and any minor problems were quickly dealt with by staff.
The poolside sunbeds are very comfy. I would prefer to have a little music playing around the pool area (not blasting out) because sometimes its that quiet that couples are whispering in conversation. Lovely place though. Would go back. Nerja is so pretty.
