Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: With a volume of more than 100,000 m3 and a surface covering 9,371 m2, the Tourist galleries represent approximately one-third of the cave. The cave has been used as a habitat, a burial site and for cultural expression. There are remnants testifying to the passage of hunters, gatherers and fishermen from more than 30,000 years ago. The General Visit starts with the screening of a audiovisual presentation in which you will be able to see spectacular details of the cave (10 minutes). Then an audio-guided visit through the different chambers of the Cave, in a pleasant walk of about 45 minutes where you will discover the many secrets the grotto keeps (audio-guided in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Russian). When the cave closes its doors, a small group of privileged people can enter the mystery of the underworld to enjoy the magnificence and beauty of the cave, and discover its secrets. “Well worth a visit.”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Well worth the visit, really spectacular. Only be warned that off season (Sept-Oct) caves close between 2 p.m. and 4p.m. So time your visit so that your not rushed out of the caves like we were!!!! Also would advise getting the headphone sets. There are a lot of steps (down and obviously back up again) so not good for anybody with poor mobility.

“Quite superb”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

Very close to Nerja and one of the local interest sites advertised on flyers throughout the town so we thought we should give it ago. A fairly low key entry point but what a fantastic site awaits under ground as many of the reviewers have mentioned quite superb and a real surprise considering what a understated little place Nerja is. On par with world heritage sites such as the Genolan Caves in Victoria, Australia. Also note there is quite a temperature drop below and so perhaps remember to take something more than a vest!

“Go there and see it even if you have seen a dozen of caves before”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

I have seen many caves around the world so was not expecting much more from this one. This was a mistake. You should definitely see you because of the size of it's interiors. It will not takie you more than 1h to circle inside. What you will see will amaze you

“Natural Wonder!”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

I bit unsure about doing this type of touristy visit but after going in totally changed my mind. Huge caverns with spectacular stalagmites and stalactites...must see visit which a camera can not do justice!
Tip: Opens at 10.00am with big queues to get tickets and to enter the cave entrance...suggest have a coffee first to allow queue to die down. Or have a walk around the pleasent grounds and delay your visit to 11.00am.
