Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: With a volume of more than 100,000 m3 and a surface covering 9,371 m2, the Tourist galleries represent approximately one-third of the cave. The cave has been used as a habitat, a burial site and for cultural expression. There are remnants testifying to the passage of hunters, gatherers and fishermen from more than 30,000 years ago. The General Visit starts with the screening of a audiovisual presentation in which you will be able to see spectacular details of the cave (10 minutes). Then an audio-guided visit through the different chambers of the Cave, in a pleasant walk of about 45 minutes where you will discover the many secrets the grotto keeps (audio-guided in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Russian). When the cave closes its doors, a small group of privileged people can enter the mystery of the underworld to enjoy the magnificence and beauty of the cave, and discover its secrets. You can choose between three modalities of Exclusive Tours

Inexpensive bus ride from Nerja town.
Huge caves, though not all are open to the public.
Well laid out one way path, easy to walk along.
Lighting was very atmospheric, showing off the stupendous stalactites and stalagmites. Gentle classical music added to the atmosphere.
Guards present at intervals to protect the caves, but would not be engaged in conversation.

Loved the visit to the caves certainly worth a visit but not for people who have walking difficulties as there a lot of steps. very pretty inside a wonder to see.

The Caves of Nerja is one of the most visited attractions in the Costa del Sol for a very good reason. They are big and impressive. One can never visit them enough to appreciate the beauty of nature.

Only disappointment was that they don't allow flash photography but on entry take your photograph using flash which they then try to sell to you on exit.

Don't go if you can't use steps, there are a lot to go up and down.

Relatively easy and short cave tour with disabled-unfriendly steps at entry and exit. The formations are nice but not exceptional. A nice short trip if you want to hide from the hot sun for 30-40 minutes.
