Clean but VERY basic apartment which was in need of a good overhaul - particularly the kitchen, bathroom and balcony doors - which would not open without a struggle ! Busy main road position. At least 1.5 mile walk to Nerja town along a not very nice beach. Nice new pool area but no sunbeds! On site cafe/bar didn't look as if it had been open for a while. Miserable staff. What more can I say - won't be visiting again (booked in a rush because of the XL fiasco) !!! Nerja town is a great buzzz at night and there are a few nice bars/restaurants on the beach.

A nice, clean and bright Hotel with its own, almost private beach, and beach bed area in a grass strip next to the bach. Hotel is in a quiet area just outside Nerja. Ideal for family holidays.
2 bedroom appartment was very clean and tidy, towels changed daily, beach towels also available. All rooms have sea view. Nice swimming pool. Food excellent and plenty to choose from.

Situated about 2.5 miles from the Balcon it will take you about 3/4 hour brisk walking or a 7 Euro taxi ride to reach civilisation. No bars or restaurants were open nearby when I "stayed". The room that I got was located almost on the "beach", which consisted of stones, dog dirt and assorted rubbish. There was a broken manhole cover with a hole big enough to fall down at the foot of the stairs up to the apartment. The view from the bedroom window was an open sewer fringed with reeds, along with a couple of bulldozers. The rooms were of a reasonable size but were in need of a complete re-fit so far as bathrooms and kitchen were concerned. The tile grouting in the bathroom was stained and dirty looking. There was no shower curtain. The bathplug chain was detached from the plug. The towels did look clean enough and smelt fresh. A small balcony which overlooked the rear of apartments at the back and some garden area was supplied with filthy dust encovered plastic chairs and a table that had seen better days. Thick dust encrusted the once white stuccoed walls. The sliding balcony doors were incapable of being fully closed and latched. We spent the night fully clothed sat on a very uncomfortable sofa bed overwhelmed by the smell of sewage before fleeing into the town of Nerja with our luggage at first light. We subsequently rented a week in a superb apartment at the edge of town from an estate agent for not much more than we paid to rent Rio Marinas. Unfortunately we had to return for our last day for our Taxi transfer to the airport. We neednt have bothered, it never came. The young man at the reception was an absolute hero, staying after he should have left at midnight and calling us a taxi when it became obvious that we would not make our flight if we did not leave immediately. Sorry, but never again.

Visited these appts in September 2007 for 11nights. Situated about 1KM from edge of Nerja, still a fair walk into town from here. Walking along the pebble/sand beach or road will keep you fit! There is a shuttle bus, but don't expect it to keep to the timetable! In need of renovation especially bathrooms and kitchen but considering the price what can you expect. Generally clean but bath towels almost threadbare.Gardens nicely kept and pool lovely, however I was dissapointed that there was no relaxed seating area. The pool has railings around it and is accessed by gates which I felt gave it an unfriendly feeling, though I can understand the child safety aspect which many parents would like. Try the bars on the beach when walking to town, don't look much but friendly and cheap! Overall good cheap holiday , no frills!

We enjoyed an excellent holiday in this hotel. We had a two bedroom-ed apartment with adequate kitchen area, large lounge, and good firm beds, tidy and clean. Hotel staff were also excellent. Although hotel was nearly full, the pool area, gardens, beach, bar and restaurant were never busy - more than enough sun-loungers. This hotel is in the SAGA brochure, so expect a lot of retired people. Other than that, most people were families with young children. Very few couples only and no singles, probably due to the number of larger apartments suited to families. Little, if any, hotel entertainment, and no nearby bars nor discos, so quiet evenings and no sleepless nights. It is B&B, half or full board, with all meals in the restaurant - very good range of foods at all meal times - typical buffet style - to suit all tastes. Out of Nerja - about a mile, nothing nearby at all, and no shops/restaurants on the road into Nerja, but easily walkable, and a bus stop right outside. Nerja is a lovely simple resort, plenty of local shops and restaurants. Hotel beach is OK, but shingly and stony rather than golden sands.

Just got back from a six night stay that cost £200 for a 2 bedroom apartment (we were upgraded without asking).

Hotel is clean and well run. There is a definate Saga contingent, the other main group being families with very young children. The food is OK - nothing to write home about but alright (our package was self-catering but we did eat 3 times in the hotel as it was so cheap - 9Euros for lunch and 12 Euros for dinner).

The staff were all friendly and professional, most speaking good or excellent English. Roooms cleaned every day and sheets at least twice in the time we stayed. I think all the rooms have some sort of sea view. There was a microwave and a hob and all the basics needed for cooking in kitchen. Beds not fantastic but ok. Everything clean and well looked after, no signs of grime and decay.

Spa are is lovely and worth spending an afternoon in (we got in for 10 Euros for a Spa circuit - sauna, hamman, turkish bath, Ice room, power showers, jacuzzi, swimming pool. Normally 18Euros but special offer in April for hotel residents. Lots of other treatments that are comparatively cheap to what it would cost in UK.

The hotel is located right on the beach - and it has to be said there is no visible security so would be easy for outsiders to mingle with guests, so probably worth keeping tight rein on bags if outside in the pool area. Just down the beach towards Nerja is an array of cheap beach eateries. We had a great meal in one located at the back of a boat yard - great tapas and paellas for less than £4.

It is a bit of a hike into Nerja - the hotel shop is useless except for overpriced basics, but the shop at the neighbouring Rio Marinas complex does stock more necessary items.

I would definately go back to this hotel at the right price - and would recommend to almost all groups excepts singles/childless couples looking for exciting nightlife (you wont find it here). I wouldnt do all inclusive as I would be bored rigid, but bed and breakfast would be perfect.
