We've stayed in many of Spain's Paradores and this is one of our favorites. It is right on the sea, with a great pool, restaurant and even an elevator down the sea cliff to the perfect beach. Our room was spacious, comfortable and super clean. The staff was great and we got a fantastic deal, 80E for a sea view w/ balcony, it was perfect. Great free WIFI throughout the entire property. Plus, Nerja is such a neat town, one of Spain's coastal gems.

I stayed in the Parador de Nerja for one night whilst on a business trip. Ample free parking spaces, both covered and open. Check-in was quick and efficient and everything was explained in good English. My room, with large furnished balcony, overlooked the sea (and the sunrise in the morning), the pool and the hotel grounds which were immaculately maintained. The location is on a clifftop but there is a private lift (elevator) going down to the beach during the day. The room was clean and well furnished with ample storage space and a good sized bathroom (large fluffy towels) with separate toilet. The bar area and restaurant are located along a short covered walkway. Breakfast was very good with hot and cold dishes as standard and also the offer of omelette or scrambled eggs cooked to order.

Hotel drawbacks: as the location is on a clifftop it may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties as the seafront and beachside restaurants are down (and back up!) a very steep hill. All in all an excellent hotel.

We have visited most of Andalucia's paradores, and this place tops the list so far. The building itself is not of the medieval origin which makes many of the inland paradores so interesting. But the modern design is very attractive, indeed, with a very skillful use of materials, light and colours.
Many reviewers before us have praised this parador and its location, so we will just add that the restaurant is far better than what we have come to expect from other paradores, which normally just manage to serve pretty uninspired dishes.
The hotel staff was unusually cheerful and attentive, and although the hotel was being renovated during our visit there was little noticeable disturbance.
To sum it up: The Parador de Nerja is a very pleasant and professionally managed hotel where we felt so comfortable for three days that we hope to return soon. And maybe by then the mature receptionists have learned to smile, too.

I absolutely love this parador. As most Paradores this one has a great location. It is located on a vast area above Burriana beach. The views are amazing, huge garden area where you can sit and relax while you enjoy the wonderful views. I liked the elevator that takes you down to the beach. The breakfast buffet is the best I've seen in a long time. There is something for everybody and taste. Try the" Pan Tumaca", a piece of bread with natural grated tomate on top, olive oil and Spanish ham on top. The staff is very attentive and efficient. The rooms are very comfortable, maybe some things like the tiles in the bathrooms are a bit outdated but this is not a modern 5 star hotel, this is a Parador, different concept. I will return to this Parador for sure.

Visited the Parador for a short holiday. Although the building does not look like an ancient Spanish castle as the typical Paradores do, but more like a modern apartment building, we were pleasantly surprised. The initial contact at the reception was somehow reserved, but the same people became very friendly and attentive later on. All staff were very friendly, housekeeping excellent. The room was functional, very clean, and had a balcony with a beautiful sea view. All rooms have sea view. It was quiet, except that on the east side there are some emissions from nearby bars, they close around midnight. There is no ironing board nor a coffee maker/kettle in the room, beds are comfortable, television has a great variety of channels, including cnn and bbc, air-conditioning. A bit annoying are the small portion soft drinks in the minibar, all 2 dl bottles, if you are thirsty, the minibar is empty pretty soon. It was a smoking room, much appreciated even though I preferred to smoke on the balcony. A real highlight was the breakfast, with all kind of warm dishes and a great variety of fruit, bread, cold meat, cheese, etc. It's one of the best breakfast buffets I've seen in Europe. As the weather was warm and sunny , we could sit on the terrace and enjoy the sea view. There is a nice and well groomed garden with interesting species of trees I had never seen before. The swimming pool was closed for maintenance, a pity, because the sea was not very warm (about 17 C). Beach by the way very clean and water transparent. The lift/elevator to the Burriana beach is spectacular. From the hotel a nice ten minute walk through typical Andalusian lanes takes you to the centre of Nerja with the famous Balcon de Europa. Other upsides are free internet in the lobby, and reception orders priceworthy taxis (e.g. only 70 euros to Malaga Airport). To conclude, I highly recommend this place to stay in Nerja.

Second time my wife and I have stayed here, having stayed previously in May. A bit quieter this time round, which was to be expected. The best bits are the wonderful breakfasts which you can eat out on the veranda overlooking the sea, and the views.
The rooms have everything you need, and all seem to have a sea view.
We eat in the restaurant on the Saturday night, and had a wonderful meal, which we finished off with a coffee in the lounge where a piano player was performing.
Dinks in the bar were very reasonable. We did not eat in on the Sunday as to be honest the place was dead, so instead eat out in the town centre which is a 5 minute walk away.
As advised in my previous posting following my visit in May it is well worth joining the Amigos club, as one of the many benefits is that you get a free welcome drink. Additionally it is worthwhile searching round for special promotions, as you can often get rooms at significantly less than Rack rate.
We actually paid nothing as we were taking advantage of a promotion that the Parador group made in May/June. We knew nothing of the offer when we booked for May, and speaking to reception they were only informed a week before the promotion. This promotion gave a free night stay voucher in November/December, for every two nights stayed in May or June. We ended up with three free night vouchers which gave us bed and breakfast. A real bargain.

Although this may be one of the more expensive pardors, it is a great place to stay. It is right on the ocean, and every room has a balcony with a five-star view. The rooms are simple but entirely comfortable and clean. The hotel (lilke the rest of the town) is on a bluff about five stories above the beach. Beach access from the parador is provided through a private, secure outdoor elevator. The beach is delightful, wide and inviting, with a good number of restaurants and stores. But you may prefer to stay back at the hotel and lounge by the very attractive outdoor swimming pool, or the large grassy lawn with abundant lounge chairs, shade trees, and stunning views of the ocean. Breakfast is included, and is a very high-quality buffet. The town is a pleasant 10 minute stroll away.
