“Wonderful break in the sun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2014

Beautiful quiet location at what I would say is the top end of Nerja, we have previously stayed around the Torecilla beach area because it is so handy for town and thought it may become a bit of a walking holiday, but the residential area of this hotel means you can zig zag into town without encompassing any inclines, through clean & quaint streets that hold even more eating establishments than we have previously discovered.
We bought a late deal at a great price and planned on eating out some evenings -only bothered a couple of times - as the dinner was more than adequate and the gala evening on a Saturday is not to be missed. Breakfast is also a selection of hot/cold buffet dining - as per previous reviews, you have bought a 3* package and the price reflects what is actually on offer. Yes, the juice and hot drinks are from machines but we have encountered this is 5* hotels. We went to recharge our batteries and enjoyed a chill out time which we managed in wonderful sunshine.
All the staff were welcoming and helpful and we will definitely be returning to this hotel.

This hotel was booked as part of a very last minute package deal and we simply didn't have time to do any research on it although we know Nerja and the area fairly well. Our holiday was cheaper than we had expected to find and I think that was really the problem here. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful but our bedroom and bathroom had a tired look to them. The main issue however was the food quality. The buffet style breakfasts and evening meals reminded me of old style school dinners. Very basic choices giving us the idea that at the prices they get from the tour companies they simply cannot afford to provide anything other than very basic quality. Examples: breakfast "fruit juice" from a machine appeared to be watered down fruit squash; coffee from another machine was horrible; all cooked vegetables we were offered were boiled to death; nothing in a Spanish style was offered for dinner except one Mallorcan dish which was horribly overcooked; "roast" beef and pork appeared to have been boiled in its gravy; all the fish we tried was terribly overcooked; everything on offer was very plain and uninteresting; food was left on the hotplates for hours with a chef appearing occasionally to give things a stir to make them look better; "potato and cream cheese soup" sounded interesting but it was actually cauliflower soup; the dish carefully labelled "mushed potatoes" spoke for itself!

The hotel was tolerable for a week and it was cheap but I sympathise with the couple we met who were staying here for four weeks!

This place has it all, clean rooms, good and varied food and friendly staff. Ideally situated so to be near enough but peaceful at the same time. Very knowledgeable staff and always willing to help. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a little tired needs some tlc, but the staff were excellent, food was buffet style with good mix. We had room 302 and were happy with our room, good views over sea and the lovely mountains, also the pool area. We enjoyed happy hour before dinner, would go back and stay here again, I have to say I little disappointed extra cost, think deposit for safe was good but charging for use of it also no dinks at dinner time, breakfast you could have coffee, tea, juice, water, but dinner you had to order drinks, and you couldn t order tea or coffee you had to go to bar to get it. think if asked for tea or coffee why can t you have it without leaving you meal to go get it yourself. Internet was interesting and good they had it in public areas, made for social time with other guest. Would say if you looking for nice clean friendly hotel in Nerja this is good hotel.

Room Tip: If you want hot drink with dinner go to bar first before going to dinning room .

a lovely hotel with fantastic staff who for most of our stay were fantastic. it was only the second night when the bar had closed when we returned just before midnight and i was refused a hot drink to take my pain meds with by the young lady clearing up behind the bar and with nowhere else to get one, it did upset me a little , that was the only low point we had and from then on made sure we were back well before the bar closed.. Every other member of staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpfull. From the manager down to the cleaners they were all exceptional, thank you for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in the extension part of the hotel overlooking the back of the hotel which we were adviced...

Very nice traditionally Andalucian style hotel. Very conveniently located for the Buriana beach and for the centre of Nerja.
All the staff were very friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again myself. I think my friend and I were lucky to get booked as the hotel was very busy indeed.
