“A Local Restaurant Worth A Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

If in Nerja and in search of Spanish seafood, La Puntilla represents a great find and a great value. While not as fancy as many others, it was terrific insofar as the variety of fresh fish and shellfish offered, and its quality and taste. It's off the beaten path and a bit away from the seaside, but not difficult to find -- and worth the trip. The staff was friendly and helpful.

“GREAT WATERING HOLE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

A superb tapas bar. Always a good selection of tapas, very friendly bar staff, good wines (esp Ribera) and at very good prices. Having said that "Please dont come!!" we dont want it to get overcrowded and spoilt.

“Off the beaten track - excellent fresh seafood - great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

Traditional Spanish tapas bar and restaurant and specialising in fresh seafood in the backstreets and off the beaten track - so very popular with the Spanish and discovered by tourists. There is seating outdoors, inside on the ground floor and upstairs.

Three of us went for lunch. We ordered a number of half-racions of gambas pil-pil (very tasty fresh tiger prawns with garlic and a little chili - probably the tastiest gambas pil-pil in the town - €6.50), almejas (clams - €4.30), anchoas (Cantabrian anchovies with tomato - €6.50), boquerones fritos (local fried anchovies - €4.20), puntillas (house specialty and the restaurant's name - whole baby squid - €5.40), berenjenas con miel (aubergines with sugar-cane honey - €3.10), with a bottle of excellent Ribera del Duero Crianza wine (€24.50), waters, followed by coffees and one had a brandy. The whole bill for a very satisfying meal for three including drinks was €66.

The waiter was friendly, attentive and very professional - service with a smile.

This restaurant is well worth seeking out - for a truly Spanish experience - and excellent fresh seafood.

“Simple no frills but good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

Visited three times during a week stay in Nerja. It's off the main tourist area but well worth seeking out if you want excellent fish or grilled meats. It is very much a locals place - noisy and busy but we got served quickly. The food is traditional Spanish - try the potatas al lo pobre - it was delicious!
Seafood is a speciality of the restaurant - take a phrase book if you want to know what all the different types of shellfish are! Overall La Puntilla is good value for money and the food is simple but of excellent quality.
