“Amazing meal, decent price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

Definitely worth trying this place. It's a bit away from all the main touristy places. Both my friend and I had meals off the special menu. It was 19€ for starter, entree and dessert. It had a good variety of starters, entrees and desserts and quite a bit of seafood. Wine menu was extensive and decently priced. I had the cream curry soup and it was incredible. The crunchy hot bread was nice too. Entree I had duck in orange sauce, it came with a salad and a side. Very very good too. Left there way too full. But happy

“A little gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

This is a very good restaurant indeed - if you can find it! As other reviewers have said, it is very unobtrusive and, unless you were looking for it, you would walk past without a second glance. Don't!. We had the Menu Prestige which was 19 euros each. Very tasty, well presented food. Almost too attentive service. An above average restaurant in this area, where there are so many eateries. Quality at a fair price.

“A Quality Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

We have never been disappointed at Jackies.

Excellent food with good service. We have eaten at Jackies (wherever it was) for over 20 years and in that time we have never had a poor meal or service. It is now much smaller than it used to be, but the service and cuisine is always as good as ever. I would also recommend their house wine.

“A new location but the same brilliant food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013

This restaurant used to be situated at Cotobro near Almunecar and has has a brilliant reputation for many years and we visited it there many times and were never disappointed.

It moved to Nerja a few years ago and it seems the move has been successful. We always used to enjoy their monthly gastronomic menus for €35 +Iva inc wine. Not the cheapest meal in town but with 8 courses well worth the money. They still do this menu but now they do a "mini" version every Thursday, lunch and dinner, except for the end of the month when they offer the full gastro experience.

You get eight courses, perhaps a little smaller than the main event but just as good, and the menu changes all the time. Unlimited good quality wine. All that for €20+ Iva. I do not believe there is any other restaurant in the area that even gets close in terms of quality/value for money.

If you want to try it you will need to book as it is normally a full house even for lunch. I wouldn't be surprised to see it being offered on more than one day a week.

Their a la carte menu is still available but in many years we have never felt the need to venture there. The normal table d'hôte menu is good as well but doesn't change.

It deserves to be number one in Nerja.

“Well worth the search”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

We had read reviews of Restaurant Jacky and decided to book an evening meal. It proved very difficult to find, and it appears to be hiding its light. It is on Calle el Chaparil, opposite the junction with Calle Antonio Millon. Its public face is only a small old wooden door, but this opens into a pleasant interior. The night we visited they were having a Menu Gastronomique (3 days at the end of each month). This consisted of 8 or 9 courses and wine included. So there was no choice of courses if you are picky. We thought the meal was a real pleasure, with some courses being, of course, tastier than others. But overall it was a real treat, and the service was excellent. (They event adjusted some of the courses slightly to accommodate my wife who needs gluten free food)
The meal cost c. €36.00 per head, which sounds pricy, but includes all your wine and some great tastes.
