My wife and I had a nice time in this bar. Great atmosphere with locals and tourists. We got some nice tapas (free) with our wine. Three locals with guitars entertained the bar with some Spanish songs. The owner and his wife work hard and make everyone feel welcome. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Great Tapas bar in the heart of town a minute or so's walk from The Balcon de Europa. Great atmosphere with a very entertaining bar man who served us our 'Flamed Pig Chorizo' which you cook by yourself at your table. Well worth a visit.

What can I say. The bosses parents have been going for some years, and I have joined them for two. Rafa, the owner, remembers us every year, and it really makes the visit worthwhile, especially when he calls her dad "la Capitalista" as he is the one who pays at the bar, (even though we pay him.)
The tapas is rustic, and some nights you can smell the cheese as you walk in! The Tinto is good value, and the travelling musicians always seem to end their travels there, they are amazing. Some nights they have the most wonderful guitarist with them, when he is not there, they may take the singer, what a voice he has.
A cheap, entertaining night is assured.

This place is fun, authentic and really good value. Good wine at 1.50 euro. We were recommended this place by a couple in the hotel. It gets busy but it only adds to the atmosphere, when I say busy it's still laid back. The best thing is you get to flambé your own chorizo in a terrocotta pig. The staff are lovely, funny & friendly. Great for a snack or a cheap tea. It's a must if you're in Nerja.

We spent 6 nights in Nerja last week and went to Los barriles 3 times. Every night was excellent, with a great atmosphere and superb tapas, which are mainly free, when you buy a drink. The bar staff were very friendly, and a trio of musicians entertained each night.
