I went here with my parents and friends after checking Tripadvisor for good restaurants in Nerja and it was the first decentish looking one on the list. We decided to order different raciones (tapas), so we could share different dishes. They didn't have most of what I tried to order as other diners had already finished them off - a little strange at 9.30 on a Saturday night. The food was OK but seemed to be a mix between Spanish, French and catering for North European tastes. If you want real Spanish food, don't go to El Niño. I left the place hungry as there weren't enough non-meat dishes available.

Disappointing experience. Decided to eat in the restaurant which was a big mistake. Over priced and poor quality. We have been to El Nino on numerous occasions and normally eat in the bar area which is fine. It is a traditional Spanish bar/restaurant which caters for locals and tourists.
Well worth a visit but avoid eating in the restaurant.

A fair range of tapas but some looks like it may have been hanging around a bit too long. Some interesting 'specials', nice roscos. Priced very reasonably

The choice in Nerja itself is huge, but it would be remiss not to recommend El Nino.

Found along 'post office street', off Nerja's main square - the famous Balcon de Europa - the restaurant is very busy year-round.

It is family-run by the very capable 'Bibi' and caters for a variety of tastes. Fish dishes dominate, but there's much more to choose from, and the service is simply superb.

I fully confer with another client on Tripadvisor guide, who said: "What a fantastic place, not only Bibi but all the staff were so welcoming and made us feel at home. The tapas was superb, and by far the best."

Booking is therefore advisable, with full details of most of the restaurants found in the locally produced pocket (English) publication, the Nerja Menu Guide.

Nerja overall is magnificient, with the whole town set against a seascape that is constantly changing with nightfall seeing the tiny pinpricks of light appear as local fishermen take to the Med, their navigation lights picked out like stars.

Hugely popular with Spanish people already, those folk tired of the 'full English breakfast brigade' will see Nerja overall as a great alternative to the more prosaic Costa del Sol resorts, such as Torremollinos, Benalmadena or Fungerolia.

Go now before it changes!!

We happened to be wandering along the side streets of nerja when we came upon this little restaurant/bar. We had some tapas which were just right for a mid day snack and a few beers to cool off. While this is a nice place, with nice food its a pity that one staff member was not so nice. It was as if she did not want us there and we soon found out why. She locked the doors and sat down with another staff member to have their own lunch... It look as if this place does well. It was well decked out with all the tables set and ready for the later menus. we would come back here again on another occasion
