Easy Nerja Guesthouse

As someone who was there with Benyup, in the middle of the three beds, I could not agree more. Cuddling up to a cold bottle of water to try and keep from overheating at night is not the best way to get some shuteye.

I have stayed in several hostels in Nerja. This is the worst. And by some distance.

We were given a "triple" bedroom in the dungeon, sorry basement. The bedroom, I would imagine normally operates as a twin but had been supplemented with an extra bed for our arrival.
The result was a cramped room, with no floor space, reaching sauna level temperatures at night. Our only ventilation was a pillor box sized window above head level which opened on to the noisy street above. The little floor space that remained was utilised, by a family of cockroaches.
The owners were rarely around until it was time to settle the bill.

Perhaps we were unlucky with the room we were given but I wouldn't risk a return.

We have booked six nights at Hostal Bronce and not even once regreted it. The room was light, spacious and cleaned everyday. Fanstastic location (Mercado - 1 min walk, Bus stop - 2 min walk, Old Town - 5 min walk, Cosy beach via Old Town - 10 min walk) - close to everything yet a little on the side so you can enjoy your siesta in peace. Superb roof terrace - try the showers there!

Last but not least: Eduardo the Manager and his great staff - always helpful! Thanks again!

Very central based in the old town of Nerja. Most rooms are light and spacious. The first room we were given was in the basement - I would imagine that this would not be a problem in the hight of summer when its very hot, however for early April it felt a bit dark. However we just asked reception and they moved us as soon as another room was available. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Lots of TV channels that can be changed to English language using sat remote. This is a cheap traditional Spanish hostal that is good value for money. Would recommend to couples and friends who just need a place to sleep at night.

Room Tip: Check out the Round bar for lots of free tapas

I recently stayed at Hostal Bronce and cannot fault it! The room was very clean, spacious for a very cheap rate. The location is great - less than a 5 min walk to the main areas of Nerja through old Spanish streets . We had a very good welcome and would definitley stay there again!

We have just came back from 8 nights at the hostel bronce and can honestly say we would recommend it to anyone. We went to Nerja with around 40 members of family for a family wedding in the Balcon, the whole family stayed in different hotels and hostels in Nerja but after looking at them and knowing how much they paid we feel we got the best deal as this hostel was great value for money and was very very clean, in some cases cleaner than the balcon! The staff are polite and we felt that our stuff was safe in the room too. Overall a great stay and we will be staying there again in the near future.

Hostal Bronce is situated in Nerja old town and is a great place to stay. We arrived by bus - €5 total per person from Malaga airport compared to €60 for a taxi - and should you do the same you then need to walk up to the roundabout and turn right. You should then either cross at the first zebra crossing and then take the next street on your right, or walk down to the (very handy) supermarket and cross at the zebra crossing there and turn right at the end of that street.

If you arrive mid-afternoon, you may need to give them a call to let you know you have arrived, but someone will be with you almost immediately - the phone numbers are on the door, should you not have them in advance. We checked in with one of the very friendly and helpful staff and went up to our room on the first floor. The room was a good size with a double bed, hangers, drawers and a wardrobe and has patio doors onto a small balcony; the view from which was up and down the street and with the mountains in the background to the left. There is also a ceiling fan for when it gets too hot. The bathroom consisted of a sink, toilet and a decent sized shower which all worked perfectly. The rooms were kept incredibly clean during our stay.

Within the hostel there is also internet access via a shared PC and a roof terrace. We tended to use the terrace at dusk with a nice glass (well, party cup!) of €2.50 cava from the nearby supermarket. As there is no fridge in the room, we got a bag of ice as well and used the sink as an impromptu chiller. There is also a jacuzzi on the terrace which is available for a small charge; we didn't use it ourselves, but if you choose the terrace to sun yourself I imagine it would be well worth it.

The main town, including Balcon de Europa, is accessible via several different routes and only takes a few minutes stroll. Should you go via Calle Granada you will go past Nerja Book Centre which I highly recommend. It has a great selection of cheap second hand books and should you finish with them they can be sold back at half the cost price. A simple, great idea which saves you lugging books away with you when you pack.

Cost per night for the room equated to around €35/£30. For a great location, lovely staff and clean rooms, this was a bargain.
