“Beautiful quiet place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

We chose Punta Lara because we wanted somewhere quiet near to Nerja.

It IS quiet and beautiful. It's also very friendly and has a great community pool and good restraints in the area (try the hotel for posh and delicious and Tropicana for big, tasty and affordable).

If all you need is a pool and a couple of bars and restaurants then you won't need a car.

Plus points are:
- eating out is very affordable (try the beach restaurants too)
- it's only a 20 min walk along the beach to nerja
- taxis are cheap and easy (phone them!)
- We eventually sussed out the bus and that takes you straight to the supermarket
- Nerja has loads to see and do and nothing is far away (but you need transport).

Negatives are:
- the local beach is not great
- We have a young kid and the distance into Nerja (and ALL shops) needed a pushchair (which was do-able but tricky with the beach).

Punta Lara really need a lick of paint. The properties are looking really sad. If its the Brits abroad then this is the place for you.

“Fantastic home made food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

I have been going to the Oasis Restaurant at Punta Lara for many years. It's family run and they are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Toni the owner/chef is a great cook and she's always smiling. Everything is cooked to order and if you want something off menue, just let her know and she will go to the supermarket so it will always be available for your next visit. Toni is also very aware to food allergies and has several options available in terms of milk/nuts.
Added bonus' are TV sports (if you're so inclined), and free wifi. Toni's husband Manolo does not work in the restaurant but keeps a close watching brief and compliments everything Toni does, he's also a fab chef and creates some interesting dishes
If you come to Punta Lara, please visit the Oasis Restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

“A residential area 2km from the centre of Nerja”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

A quiet residential area - but a great beach - which seems quieter than the more popular central beaches. Limited facilites.
