I visit this restaurant at least twice a month. and on each visit I am very impressed by the quality of service and food. There TAPAS are second to none!,you are even offered a TAPAS when you only have a coffee, The staff are all spanish and are the most friendly I have met in my five years in Spain.and prices are on par with the majority of restuarants in the area.

El Puente has got to be one of the best places to eat, on a budget or otherwise, in town.
Very reasonable prices are not reflected in the quality (or quantity) of the food offered here, and the menu of the day is proving to be a real 'crisis buster,' having remained at an extremely reasonable nine euros for at least three years, to the best of my knowledge.
This is quite an achievement, considering that you get a bread roll, a starter course (often almost a meal in itself) a main course, dessert and a drink (wine, beer, soft drink, tea/coffee) for this price, and it comes as no surprise that the restaurant enjoys great popularity with local workers during the week. Earlier on in the thread someone offered the excellent advice - Go early (avoiding the local post 1.30 ish rush) and go hungry - couldn't agree more, although if you like a great Spanish atmosphere, with the accompanying noise levels, go after 1.30 weekdays, it comes at you in spades!
We took my mother there for lunch a couple of days ago and we all had the menu del dia. Every course scored 10/10, (starters - beef and potato 'soup', onion soup and white bean 'soup,' mains - a huge and tender pork chop, tender pork chunks in tomato sauce and a good size, beautifully cooked, merluza (a white fish - mind the garlic!) with a flan for dessert. Because two of us were beaten when we were asked if we wanted postre they even knocked a couple of (extra) drinks off the bill by way of recompense.
Fantastic! Where else would you get that?
Antonio has listened to customer feedback over the years and now serves thicker chips (those thin, burger establishment things were, unsurprisingly, non too popular) and a decent bread roll instead of those plastic wrapped bits of cardboard still favoured by some establishments.
Antonio's staff are brilliant in every respect, and you will go a long way to find a friendlier welcome, along with great service, great food and great value.
Eighteen out of 30 reviews to date rank El Puente as excellent, and the remaining 12 as very good. Not a poor or mediocre review in sight, and a healthy amount of feedback over a good period of time.

When we are in Nerja we always visit the donkey sanctuary and on our way back to town we always call in to el puente for tapas. It's a very friendly place and the staff always remember us from outlast visit. They have an excellent selection of tapas with large portions and at a very reasonable price. The restaurant is always very busy at lunch times. El Puente is always on our list of places to visit.

This is a lovley little place, the staff are very friendly and speak a bit of English, the food came out very quickly despite being busy and it was really tasty. Nothing too fancy, but a great value menu del día, where you get a 3 course meal for a set price. The only downside to this restaurant is that it is right next to the main road and is pretty noisy.
