Really enjoyed our stay in Fuengirola/Lost Boliches. Spent a lot of time just walking up and down the front, great watching the evening paseo. The front also lends itself to jogging if you're an energetic type, and the trot down to Carvajal and back is lovely. Very nice, looking forward to returning sometime. We stayed at the Stella Maris apartments and would readily stay there again.

Found this wee place while walking from Fuengirola to Los Boliches...Cafe Gauje...stopped for a
late lunch....had the menu del dia but from the evening one as we prefered the choice and this was no problem to the couple who own and run this lovely restaurant! The food was fantastic.. gambas pil pil....pork fillet,( so tender we hardly used a knife!), fab pepper sauce, home made creme carmels, rice pudding.....needed the walk back l can tell you! House red was also really nice!! Obviously well used by locals and a wee bit off the main area but well worth finding....see you proxima ano!

Great bars and restaurants. Spanish people go out later for evening meal so the restaurants serve until much later. A good mix of tourists from different nationalities. A variety of street entertainers.

Although Fuengirola has many clubs and bars for younger people only a twenty minute walk away, I found the Los Boliches part of town lovely and quiet. Good beaches with sunbeds and shades for hire plus lots of extra space if you prefer to take a parasol on to your own plot of sand. Plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from, not only on the seafront but also down the back streets as well. Few football shirt wearers and only a small handful of irritating street traders. I did not see one drunken person the whole week I was there. I was surprised at the amount of dog owners who came out in the evenings and French Bulldogs seem to be the breed of the moment. It is a popular area with Spanish families which can only be a good sign. The train station was a five minute walk from our hotel (Comfortel) which you can take to either Torremolinos or Malaga Airport should you so wish. Plenty to keep young children occupied but generally a place for those who want to relax rather than run around working up a sweat.
