“great thompson team”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

hotel is quite dated. bathrooms and bedrooms need updating. issues with people leaving towels on sunbeds and disappearing for hours. food is average, although the soup was always good. there was a good selection of food but it just wasn't to our taste, other people seemed to enjoy it. the resident entertainment duo 'sophistication' are very average, we ended up only going down to the aquariam bar at 10.00pm til 11.00pm when the thompson team were doing their show. Aidan, Matt, Sam and Emily were very entertaining, they were better than the 2 acts that were brought in on 2 nights. during the day the thompson team worked very hard, joining in the games and keeping people amused. the snack bar at the pool served good food and carmen was very funny.

My husband and I have just returned from a fortnight at The Yaramar. We had a wonderful time. I would agree that the rooms could be updated but were very comfortable. The entertainments team were the best we have ever had at any of the Gold hotels we have been too. Their shows that they performed in the evening were excellent. Having met Sam on our first day she kindly explained what was happening around the hotel and always stopped for a chat whether on duty or not. Matt's showcase was brilliant and will never forget how he helped me make earrings. Altogether the holiday was one of the best we have had and can't wait to revisit The Yaramar

Just returned from a week at the Yaramar. The hotel itself is a little bit dated but it's an outstanding hotel. We had a room on the 14th floor and the views were terrific, the staff kept our room spotlessly clean. The food was the usual Thomson Gold excellent standard and I thought the bar prices were quite good. Although we didn't go down in to the main Showbar (Downstairs) The entertainment team this year were the best we have ever seen. Aiden, Matt, Emily and Sam worked so, so hard to keep everybody happy and really made our holiday special. Even when they were not on duty they still took the time to help you, Matt even stayed behind to have a game of table tennis with myself (and lost) !! The hotel also owns the Rivera Club opposite where you can get a great deal. You can get two sunbeds and a parasol for €5 a day and you also get a free glass of sangria. Overall this was a fantastic holiday and i am sure we will be returning soon.
Colin

Just come back after a 2 week holiday. Hotel provided good food and the rooms were kept clean but I wish there was a disabled room available. The Gold entertainment team were excellent both during the day and at night. Really appreciated there were no children under 18.

We have just come home from a two week holiday at the Yaramar. This was our first stay there and all in all a very good holiday. The food was of a very varied menu, not totally repetitive on the second week. All of the staff were very pleasant, especially Graciela in the dining room, and helpful. The Thomson Gold entertainment team consisting of Aiden, Matt, Sam and Emily were very talented indeed and always had time to chat to you. Their "Il Classico" evening was exceptionally good and showed off their beautiful singing voices. The resident duo Sophistication were really good and had a wide range of music genre. On reading some of the reviews before we went, we were advised to go to the Biopark zoo at night, a big mistake, it was so dark it was difficult to see where we were going and I'm sure we missed more than we saw. The only disappointment I had was a bad fall injuring my knee when walking into the snack bar because some irresponsible person had gone in with a dripping swimsuit and I slipped on the water. The waitresses in the snack bar were very helpful and made sure I was okay putting ice on my knee. Other than that we had a very good holiday and I'm sure we will be back in the future.

Room Tip: All of the rooms have a sea view

This was our second holiday at this hotel and it was just as good as the last time.
Well situated just across the road from the beach with comfortable loungers at 5Euro a day for two.
The food is canteen style, and there really is something for everyone.
The hotel staff are so helpful, and courteous. They have bus timetables etc, you just have to ask.
I agree with reviews on here that the hotel does need a degree of upgrading. We had a few minor incidences in the room, a cupboard door fell off, and the curtain pelmet fell down, but these were all attended to immediately. In a way, I rather like this old fashioned 'look' and you are certainly not paying through the nose for a so called luxury hotel. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and the linens changed often, towels every day. For the money, it's a great place for a happy holiday.

We have just returned from a 11 night stay at this hotel .We have stayed there on several occasions .But this hotel is in serious need of refurbishment. The dining room is in need of better air con.as it was far to hot to enjoy our evening meal. All the hotel staff are superb and can't do enough for you.The bar prices where a bit steep but as we like to go out at night this didn't really count. We will return to this hotel again in the future .
