Description: The Lebanese kitchen is one which is inspired by family culture as well as vitality and health. Our cuisine is largely vegetarian-friendly and a perfect opportunity to socialise as well as nourish yourself with a fresh Mediterranean plant-based feast. Fairuz first opened in London in 1998, named after the legendary Lebanese singer who has been captivating the whole of the Middle East for seventy years. We place an emphasis on pairing our cuisine with the art of Lebanese wine, whose industry – little known to the rest of the world of wine – has been thriving for over 5000 years. Our wines are from the rich Bekaa Valley in the East of Lebanon and have been selected from the finest and most established wineries of the region.

“Simply fantastic!”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

Having visited here 18 months ago we were alarmed to be told that La Isla the boutique hotel where Fairuz is situated was now closed. Happily this proved not to be the case. Being vegetarian the Lebanese food offered plenty of choice. A truly beautiful setting and great service. The wine selection was an added bonus. Make sure you try this place!

“A night to remember!”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Took my boyfriend to Fairuz for his birthday - and it was without doubt a night to remember.
We didn´t have a booking, yet despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy, the owner made a point of finding us a quiet, romantic spot for our meal.
Absolutely charming service from everyone we had dealings with (from the owner through to all the other staff), and everything was done with a flourish, efficiency and lots of good humour. Lots of background information on the food and wine, all of which was excellent, and the timing was just right from start to finish.
The setting is incredible and thoroughly peace-inducing - if we didn´t live so close to Fairuz, I would want to stay in the hotel as it is idyllic, and quite reasonably priced.
We were both utterly delighted with the experience, and will be back again shortly!

“A tropical paradise”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

What you first notice when you step through the gate is the absolute stillness and tranquility that prevails. This hotel and restaurant are located in a wonderful tropical garden amid palm trees, bougainvillea, oleander, and birdsong. There are terraces with sea views, winding paths through the garden and, of course, there is also a pool.

When we arrived we were immediately greeted and shown to our reserved table. The restaurant is very popular both for its good food and its environment; it also caters for events like weddings and birthdays. So if it's a weekend you should book a table well in advance.

Once seated, we were presented with an extensive menu and an interesting wine list. Warm freshly baked bread, garlic butter, olives and pickled white beans quickly arrived as an appetizer. For starters there is everything from Prawn Cocktail, Gambas pil-pil, Melon with Serrano ham, and Avocado with prawns, to Crispy prawns in oriental sauce and Oriental salad with chicken and soy sauce, Beef Carpaccio topped with fresh Parmesan – right through to Goulash soup.

Main courses follow with everything from Grilled Irish fillet steak, Chicken breast stuffed with cheese and Serrano ham and Roast lamb marinated in fine herbs and served with a pear and mint sauce. For non-meat eaters you can choose from Hake with prawns in a white wine sauce, Grilled seafood kebab, Pasta with a tomato sauce, garlic and prawns or a simple but delicious Pasta with olive oil, garlic, chilli and parsley.

For our meal we chose the special menu for two to share – consisting of a selection of hot and cold starters, a selection of charcoal grilled meats for the main course and fresh fruits to finish with. As an accompaniment we chose a bottle of fine Lebanese wine (Ksara Le Prieuré 2009) and a sparkling healthy mineral water.

It was our first time here for dinner, but definitely not the last. Las Islas is a seasonal hotel and restaurant, open from 1st of May to 15th of October. I think we will get back one more time this year before they close the season.

“Beautiful atmosphere, lovely setting”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

We are always looking out for new places to experience on our rare days off, and came across this boutique hotel/restaurant via an ad in a local paper. So we set off for Fuengirola to find it. Whilst it is reasonably well-indicated, we were pleased to be relying on GPS to get there...
We found a quiet, lovely-looking boutique hotel, complete with Lebanese restaurant. The welcome and service was very good, the food could have been a bit more exciting. We ordered a few starters and a mixed grill. The meat on the mixed grill was made up of lamb and chicken, the chicken breast was nice and tender, the lamb a little less. The kofte was lacking in flavour and a bit dry for my liking.
We loved the place for its location and friendliness and will go back to try something else off the menu. Shame it's only open in the summer, which is a busy time for us, with little opportunity to get away. Maybe on a rare day off we will go and stay with a couple of friends and make an evening of it.

“Worth the effort to find!”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

This lovely and small restaurant offers a superb dinner in a fantastic atmosphere of coziness, high standard and excellent staff and its location is just beautiful up in the hill with a trophic garden and breathtaking sea view. You just once in a while find a restaurant that gives you what you are looking for: the little extra. This has it! Just a must!!
