Hotel Campos de Baeza
Ranked #4 of 8 Hotels in Baeza
Reviewed June 15, 2013

During our recent driving holiday through Spain, we had booked a night's stay at Campos de Baeza. We were told that the room had a nice view towards olive farms. The only room available, on the third floor, had a view of the sky (the viewing terrace was up a flight of stairs from the room and you had to climb up to see anything).

That said, it is a nice clean hotel with an easy access to the highway.

Room Tip: Don't take the third floor!

The Hotel was on the outskirts of Baeza - just a few minutes drive to the historic centre of this UNESCO World Heritage site. There was a free underground car park. The reception area was very impressive and our room was of a good size with comfortable bed and good bathroom. Wifi was advertised as available in the room but the signal was not strong enough. There was a roof terrace bar, but because of the time of year this was not open. It looked as if it would have been a lovely area to sit in the summer! The breakfast was adequate, although no hot food was available. The staff were friendly.

We were visiting the Campos de Baeza hotel off season and the hotel was empty, we could see on the counter at reception that they had four rooms occupied the night we were there. The hotel is situated at walking distance from city centre Baeza, but Baeza isn't that big, so I guess most hotels are at walking distance.
The breakfast was not amazing, but ok for our needs.
The rooms were relatively big and quite ok, with spacious bathroom.
The rooftop terrace, pool and cocktail bar were closed.
All considered, I would not recommend people going here if off season (stay in Cordoba or Granada, but stay away from the ghost towns). I wouldn't know about the high season, as the rooftop terrace could be quite impressive with amazing views.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 days. This hotel is not worth 4 stars so don't be fooled by it. It must have been a grand hotel 10 years ago, but has lost all its shine. The rooms were ok, nice view and the bathrooms spacious but the breakfast!!!!! It was horrible. Food can be simple but there is no excuse for dirty dishes. The coffee cans were so filthy and there display refrigerator was awful. The first day the juice were sour and the second day the tomato spread for the bread. I had to go and look for the receptionist to check out, there was no one at reception for at least 10 min. Then the credit card machine did not work.
Do not bother to go to the once beautiful terrace on top of the hotel, there is nothing going on and the pool was dirty.
Avoid this establishment. Not worth it.

A modern, but somewhat strange and unexpectedly looking hotel in walking distance from the town. The hotel is new, but the architect gave it a renaissance exterior, so a bigger version would not be out of tune on Las Vegas strip. The room was good and spacious, with a very good view on the olive-tree valley. The beds were very comfortable. Parking is no problem; plenty available spaces around the building. Be aware that the swimming pool (nicely situated on top of the building) is only open from June to September. The hotel personnel were helpful, but not in a really friendly way.The breakfast buffet was of good quality, but with not to many choices. A comfortable hotel for a visit to Baeza and Ubeda.

Room Tip: Ask for a roomwith a view on the vally; probably most rooms have it.

The hotel is modern, very clean, and has very helpful staff. It is walking distance to the town, and gives easy access to main roads to explore the surrounding areas. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet style, which could become easily crowded due to it's corner location. The decor in the hotel is well thought out, and makes arrival very pleasant. Now for the negative side. The hotel would have a fantastic view if it were not for the large olive oil factory sitting in the bottom of the valley, belching out thick smog. On our last day at Baeza, we walked into the town to buy some gifts. The 'smog' covered the centre, and smelled strongly of burnt oil. This is part of life in Baeza as it is what it is famous for. If you can get over that, then I would recommend this hotel and the beautiful towns of Baeza, Ubeda, and Cazorla.

A new hotel, although from the outside you'd be inclined to date it at around 1650, as the exterior is designed to look like an old building.

Rooms good sized, with excellent bathrooms and good-quality fittings. Tiny balconies only, but great views on both sides of the hotel.

Breakfast was included in the price, (only 55 euros per night for a double room in mid April), as was the underground car park.

Perfectly sited on the outskirts of the town, easy to find, no traffic noise at night despite being on the main road, and just 5 minutes' walk from the beginning of the old town with its monuments and squares.

Dining room was closed the 2 nights that we were there, but a dozen or more restaurants within 10 minutes' walk.

Much better sited than the parador in Ubeda for visiting the Ubeda-Baeza heritage cities.
