This modern hotel provides all the facilities that you would expect but like so many large establishments lacks personality. The buffet menu has little variation and if you, like, us do not take salt with your food, that is the first thing you will notice in the pre-prepared options. Fortunately there is a small call order bar which offers an alternative. Rooms are however well appointed and the hotel offers a good centre for exploring Andalucia and it's sites.

I stayed at the Antequera Golf Hotel from the 20th March until the 4th April. The rooms were very large and had at least 3 beds in them ,complete with mini bar and tv ect.The food in the main resturant was a bit expesive at 20 euro
for a mediocre buffet, but the pizza resturant was good value at 10 euro for as much as you could eat,the bar menu was also very good.Dont be taken in by the name golf ,the golf course is at least 4 mile away up the side of a mountain and you either need a car or goat to get there Overall this is a very good 4 star hotel and I would have no hesitation in staying there again, and if you like shopping there is one of the largest shopping centres in Spain within walking distance.

We stayed here on our way from Seville to Malaga and were traveling by car we hired in Seville. It is a good stop over hotel and the mountainous scenary around it is impressive. I was expecting it to be located on a golf course because of the hotel's name...but I could not see the golf course from the hotel, and it must be some way away from the hotel.

Parking was easy outside and the hotel reception had an impressive spacious feel. There was a bar in the corner area of the reception where I had a tasty spanish omlette. The hotel is based in a courtyard shape around a pleasant swmimming pool.

On the minus side, we found that there were not that many sun loungers around the pool. Also when using the pool it was not very relaxing because the hotel pool was also being used by a group of Spanish school children's as an official holiday club. They did make rather a lot of noise and it was a bit like being in a school playground and they used the whole terrace area for drawing and other activites.

The room we had was a little dissapointing. It was a triple room and not very light inside as the window was small. The ceiling had a stain on it. The room was rather old fashioned looking.

The breakfast was not really very good, but was adaquate.
We enjoyed more a drink that we had on the hotel terrace at night overlooking the swimming pool.

If you are looking for a place to stay overnight then I would recommend this hotel, but would not wish to stay here for longer.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a lower floor overlooking the swimming pool.

We stayed here with Page & Moy and found it the ideal base for our trips to Seville, Granada, Ronda, Cordoba etc as it was so central. Our ground-floor room was well appointed and looked out on the inner courtyard terrace and swimming pool - but rooms on upper floors had balconies. Breakfast was excellent and for dinner the food was plentiful and well prepared if somewhat dull i.e. pork, chicken and fish every day. We didn't go on all the trips provided but chose to explore Antequera itself and we'd recommend others to take at least 1 day to do so as there is plenty to see. We were there on Palm Sunday and were able to see the fantastic religious floats that are carried through the town on that day - once seen never forgotten.

Room Tip: Higher floors have balconies to relax on.

Stayed here with Page and Moy and feel the hotel did a great job.Served 5 course dinners on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and wine with every dinner each night. On Christmas Eve when staff had to get home early a free bar was left for people to help themselves.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable and very quiet.Staff at all times were cheery, polite and helpful.Although food was buffet style there was enough variety to satisfy all but the most demanding except for the professional moaners who just have to find fault.
Should it be needed the supermarket is 5 mins walk away and further on the old town of Antequera is a delight.

Not a true 4 star hotel, Spa small and cramped, Gym a disgrace- machines broken, damp, corroded machines (but the spa staff were nice) and it was the first time in my life I was told to use a Microwave in the Restaurant to over cook my bacon, and no way near the Golf Course..(the pic's on their website are misleading)...However,
They changed my room without a problem, the food was OK with some days turning out better then average. The front desk staff were excellent - food and drink prices OK, and the town of Antequera turned out to be a amazing, I have to say, even though this was probability one of the worse 4 star hotels i have stayed in....... my wife and I had one of the best times we have ever had both in and out of the Hotel !!!

Room Tip: go to there sister hotel hotel la Magdalena for a drink or a bike ride above the golf course

Stayed at the hotel with a Page & Moy “A week in Andalusia” trip. We took a junior suite and were very happy with the large room, effective air-conditioning and large bathroom with turbobath & shower. The restaurant food was good. Breakfast to satisfy every taste from full English through to continental and Spanish. We were on half board and though we thought there could have been more greens on the evening cold and hot tables there was a great choice every night including various cooked meats and fish.
Staff were cheerful and helpful, bar service good and rooms well tended.
Antequera is about 15 minutes walk and a nearest supermarket about 10 minutes – Google street view was taken at least a couple of years ago & trees are bigger and some further housing developments now completed.
Do not forget your corkscrew, non in room.
