We happened on to this hotel (recommended in our Rough Guide book) when looking around for a hotel in the Sinaia ski resort area. The resort area was full of people enjoying the green space and warm weather. It was a great place to spend an afternoon/evening when traveling between Bucharest and Brasov or Bran. Lots of trails and a nice walk up to Peles Castle. Not a whole lot to do hear, but a nice outdoorsy place to hang out.

The hotel was a little dated and had only the bare necessities in the room. We were in a double room with twin beds that were extremely uncomfortable. But the bathroom was updated and clean. No a/c though, which was pretty rough in mid-July, but is probably not a big deal any other month. The lobby area is nice, as is the attached restaurant. Breakfast is extra, and is not too impressive.

We didn't really check around for pricing, and I think we paid around $80 Euro for the night. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this hotel, but it wasn't horrible.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, and it was a very pleasant stay.

We stayed in a room at 3rd floor (last floor with guest rooms), and we had a king size bed.
Room not very large, but enough space for luggage, sitting area (2 armchairs and a small table), a mirror and a make up table, plus a little hall way with dressing, area for preparing coffee and then the bathroom. Shower cabin quite large, with all amenities (soap, shower gell, slippers, bath robes etc).

Breakfast included, many different types of food to choose from

Location: 2 min from the "telecabina" which takes you up on the mountains. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, as it is located in the center of Sinaia, across from city hall.

20-25 min walk to Sinaia Monastery and Peles Castle.

Overall a very pleasant experience.

I stayed in this hotel one night as I was driving through Romania. To be honest, it did the trick, but I wasn't that impressed. There was no real appeal, no real character. I think its more of a 3 star, than a 4 star. Room was ok, service was ok. They had a buffet breakfast downstairs by the reception. It was cold and didn't eat it. If you need a place to sleep it is ok, if you are looking for real ambiance and quality, skip it.

  • Liked — Close by the road
  • Disliked — No ambiance, no style, not a 4 star.

Hotel Anda, next to the New Montana (which was full), is a ****-hotel about 300 metres from the ski rental shop and ski lifts... And it is in the heart of Sinaia, where things happen during the weekends! You can walk up to the famous Peles castle after skiing and see the famous monastery... A beautiful town!
