“a very nice castle”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Is the most beautiful castle from Romania. It has a great position, with big gardens and you can visit it anytime. You buy a ticket and you go with a guide who tells you the story and you also can ask questions if you are interested. If you want to take pictures of the inside you have to pay a fee, but you also can find in the souvenire shop at the entrance and you can buy cd's and books. Near the big castle it is a smaller one, Pelisor castle and it is also very nice and interesting to be visited.

“It really is jaw dropping.”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

I was not expecting the detail and beauty that was inside this castle. It is a real gem and a definite must see. Pay the extra to take your camera in as its stunning.

“As marvellously Ruritanian a castle as can be contrived”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

Peles Castle was built for the King of Romania in the late nineteenth century; it's pretty much contemporary with the writing of _The Prisoner of Zenda_, and it could be the Ruritanian castle there. Fantastically over-wrought interiors, ridiculous marble fireplaces, thick dark carved oak panels, all the stag's heads you could desire and some more stag's heads besides; spires, gardens, collections of arms and armour, and the first castle to be fully electrified.

This is the main reason to go to Sinaia; the other reason is the Pelisor castle. You should see both, and you should see this one first.
