The castle, built by King Carol I , is one of the emblematic landmarks of Romania, and a must visit for every tourist traveling to Romania. In terms of exterior beautyness it can be compared with Neuschwanstein Castle, but its interiors are realy unique.
Also, it is built in a special location, having the Carpathians rising from its own garden. The entrance fee is about 5 Euros for a short tour (about one hour) and about 10 euros for a complete tour (about two hours)

It's a little unpleasant that you can only see it in certain days and it is closed most of the time, altough I saw huge groups of tourits interested in going inside. On the outside, it looks great and you definetely have what to see on the inside. Before going to the Peles Castle, you must make sure it is open.

Peles really does look like it has been transposed directly out of a fairytale. Unfortunately the interiors of the castle were closed during our visit, but the grounds are generally open and the exteriors make it worth your while to visit when staying in Sinaia.

I have seen so many castles in my life, that I did not care much to see yet another one, but am glad I had the chance to visit this special place. The frescoes and woodwork are fantastic.

We have lived in Bucharest for 8 months and have been to see Bran Castle 3 times... I wish that we had gone here instead! Peles Castle is absolutely gorgeous! For as dark and mysterious as Bran is, Peles is bright and beautiful! From now on when people come to visit us, and want to see a castle, this is where we will take them.

Be aware that is can be difficult to find when traveling by car. But it is a short 1.5 hour drive from Bucharest, with some great sights vistas along the way!
