“beautiful place”
Reviewed February 20, 2017 for a stay in May 2016

This cottage is absolutely beautiful and very traditional, this was my first time staying in a thatched cottage and I was not disappointed... We made very good use of the fireplace and had a roaring fire every night it was very cosy and easy to use.. we also took regular walks into the beach as its a very short walk away, we even done some fishing but had no luck in catching anything for supper haha, Kathleen was very lovely and gave us lots of information about all the things we could do or go to! The weather was very good to us this time we only had two days of rain so we made the very most of it, when I return to Ireland I will be sure to stay here again ! Many thanks :)

Very nice house in very nice country. Looks exactly the same as on pictures. The house is very well equipped. Fireplace makes nice house temperature. House as sea view, beautiful. Kathleen, the caretaker, provided very useful information about local activities and nice places around. Highly recommended to friends. Ireland is great.

“Picture Perfect”
Reviewed July 11, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The cottage was just as it looked in photo and the surprise was the Half Door! I loved it on sight and my 2 Grand Nephews were thrilled. It is small but so much time is spent outside and on the delightful beach a throw stones away that it didn't matter.
Everything you could need is supplied and the Lovely village of Ardmore only 2 miles away.
The Caretaker is available at the end of your phone if you need her.
My Nephews aged 7 and 5 spent as long on the beach as possible with their fishing nets looking for(and finding) crabs and other small marine bodies.,collecting shells and stones ,climbing the rocks and running in and out of the sea.
There is so much to see in Waterford and plenty of very interesting places to visit that even if the weather is not perfect you couldn't be bored.
I had only one week there but would return again.

“Very very cold house”
Reviewed March 17, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed there for the St Patricks weekend and it's one of the coldest houses we have ever been in!! We were staying with a 4 month old baby and the house was so so cold when we arrived - the heating and / or fire wasn't on for us. Maybe it was the first letting of the year or something so the house hadn't heated up properly but it was really bad how cold the house was. I know that you'd expect an old house like this to be cold but this was something else! Luckily we had brought plenty of blankets for our daughter!!

On a positive note, a bale of briquettes, firelighters and kindling was provided which was nice. We used 6 bales of briquettes in total over 4 nights!!!

Unfortunately, teabags and / or milk wasn't provided so when we arrived late on Friday night , I had to drive to Youghal (20mins) to get supplies.

FYI, the shop in the village closes at 1900 and the petrol station on the road to Youghal closes at 2230.

I'd definitely stay in the area again but unfortunately, not in this property.
