The rooms are just as nice, if not BETTER, in person. Paul was a great Host, Dickeys Pub across the street and small grocery store sure make it convenient for supplies or a pint. Tom at the the Pub is just as friendly and the locals love to tell TALL Tales. Made for a wonderful time.
The location was not the best for us and our Itinerary, but that was offset by having such a great place to come back to each day. You can't go wrong staying there with Paul at the Silvermines.

The cottage was very nice and beautifully furnished. The lovely garden with all the blooming lavender was an amazing place to spend a quiet evening. There was a fireplace inside, so we could enjoy films in a cozy atmosphere. Another big plus were the two bathrooms, so there was no queue in the mornings. Silvermines is a nice quiet place which is located in the middle of Ireland, so one can reach everything in at most two hours by car. Therefore it was a perfect basis for day trips. We loved the hospitality and warm atmosphere and would love to return some time to this amazing cottage.

Having never heard of Silvermines was slightly dubious,boy was I wrong.
Paul the owner was very welcoming and it was obvious immediately he has
worked very hard to present his property to appeal, and it works .Fit and finish
are perfect ,garden very neat and you can pick produce from it .All those things
and a pub across the street not much more you could ask for,thanks Paul.

We stayed in the large 4 bedroom house, it was fantastic! Very spacious rooms with period features, really clean and well kitted out for our every need. The shared rear yard and lawn area was great for the kids and really well maintained. Paul, the owner was really welcoming and accommodating. He provided a high chair for one of the kids on request. We could not recommend this property highly enough as somewhere to stay.

I booked Old Forge One and Two for a family holiday to visit extended family in the Midlands.
Hiring two properties was the perfect solution for travelling with three generations a which afforded everyone privacy and comfort as required.
Both properties are finished tastefully to a very high standard and fully equipped for all you will need during your stay.
Paul the owner was very accommodating and could not have been more helpful.
Both properties are to be highly recommended and we will be booking again.

We enjoyed every moment in this holiday home. Our host Mr. Fox was very kind and the rooms are beautifully furnished.
