We had a personal tour by one of the gentlemen from the historical society. He was very kind and absolutely full of information about the castle and the history of the area. It was really great.

Pity it rained at the Nenagh medieval festival it was very good and the view from the tower brought back the dark ages. The tower is well restored. the stairs are very tight as per any Norman castle so if your not good with tight spaces but its well worth the views from the top.

I only visited the tower from the outside as it happened to be closed on Sunday, but I was so impressed by it that I made quite a few photos. It dates back to the 13th century and has had quite an history.

Went here as a kid when you could only stand at the bottom and look up at the opening on top. They have done a wonderful job of restoring and improving it by putting in the floors. What a job that must have been. It is just amazing to be able to walk around at the top, see out across the town and the fields and just imagine how it would have been all those years ago. Thank you for preserving the past! Great photos and written words on posters giving more detail of the castle and the work involved in restoring it. AND IT IS FREE!!
