Small pub, great atmosphere, friendly bar staff.
Good food, value for money.
Limited restaurant area. Only a few tables but you can eat in bar area also

We visited this pub in Dromineer on the recommendation of our B&B. It was a Saturday evening and it was really busy, with lots of families there. There is a covered outside area with picnic tables so quite a good amount of space. We waited at the bar for about 10 minutes and then were seated. I had crab and potato cakes and Richard the Caesar salad - both starters but generous sizes. Dessert was old fashioned jelly and ice cream and tobelerone and crunchie cheesecake. We had good friendly service.

We hopped off our boat on the Shannon and headed for the bar. We deliberately passed by the coffee shop at the pier in favour of pub grub and of course a refreshing beverage! It was obvious when we arrived that the place was busy. They had a christening and the pub was also busy. As soon as we walked through the door (7 of us) the 2 ladies behind the bar had faces on them and started to shake their heads. They counted us out loud in front of everyone and then said that they had a christening and that they had to look after the people in the bar and they couldn't facilitate us. They advised us to go to the cafe for lunch. We had no problem with that and honesty is the best policy rather than to leave us waiting but we could have had a drink or 2 before we went to the cafe. There was no offer for us to sit at the bar or to ask us to come back after our lunch. For tourists to an area it was no way to be treated. AS the only place in the area they have the luxury of turning people away but it is not good.
