Very disappointed with the lodge. No cold running water in the ensuite sink on the first night, when we said this to the owner the next day he laughed and said he couldn't get a plumber so we had to buy our own water for washing Teeth and hands. He still charged us the full €120 and when I reminded him we had no cold water for the weekend he was very rude and aggressive he said that was the best deal you will get around - unfortunately this is true as the other hotel was booked out. Breakfast is a choice of 3 cereals tea or coffee, no yogurts, fruit is a choice of banana or apple if you want bread bring your own, they will provide butter and jam! No tv in any bedrooms. Decor very dated wall paper coming off the walls, numbers falling off the doors! Bathroom very grubby €120 very expensive for a 2 night stay in a single bed!

Stayed here just for one night with our friends "Mason's Apron" who were gigging in the town that night. Superb bedroom, lovely kitchen for breakfast next morning, very welcoming owners, hope to return one day

we booked friends form northern ireland in to the Ocen Wave Lodge in Strandhill for a family break last week and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Comfortable rooms, very clean, nice atmosphere and run by Deirdre & Paul, owners, who were very helpful & full of craic! Also, local fitness club in the Lodge, brilliant, and Strandhill have a lot of entertainment, great restaurants.

Room Tip: great accomodation for families, lot of romantic couples staying in the Lodge too!

Great spot to stay in strandhill. Great location for a surf, hill climbing, SUP'ing and supping pints. Great music in bar next to ocean lodge called Dunes. Funky vibe to ocean wave lodge and surrounding pubs!! Well worth a visit

We only had time for a night away and chose Strandhill because of its location and ease of access. I usually go there in my camper and chose Oceanwave by chance and because of other reviews. We were not disappointed. The price was fantastic. The location great a seaview and across the road from the venue a nice wee pub. The accomodation is lovely and exactly as described. The rooms are clean and very comfortable with ensuite facilities. The fact there is no tv or tea making facilities did not deter us as there is a lovely tv lounge with a welcoming fire. The kitchen is very well equipped and could not be better. The continental breakfast was very nice and a very relaxed affair. I found the accomodation very homely and relaxing. Paul could not have been more helpful or welcoming. The location is also ideal for anyone wishing to tour the area. A big thank you for a stay in a home away from home.

Room Tip: A seaview is very nice

My sister & I stayed here last weekend (10-11th June). The weather was the best we've had in years so that really helped but I have to say that Deirdre & Paul were really lovely people who gave us information on what was on and what was available locally to do. The room was really clean and comfortable with a view of the sea. The kitchen was open until 10pm We got a courtesy lift from the Strand Bar (highly recommend) to the top of the road at night thus avoiding that hill that goes on a bit, especially in heels.

Room Tip: Room at the front give you a view of the sea and it is quiet at night. You will get the sun beaming...

We are just back from a fantastic hen weekend in Strandhill, Co. Sligo. We stayed at the Ocean Wave Lodge. We booked out the whole place for the weekend and it was perfect. We had a bbq on the friday and we got to sit outside and enjoy a bit of sunshine! There is a big sitting room where we all got together for games and drinks. There's also a big kitchen where we made cocktails one night and had breakfast both mornings. There is plenty of space for everyone and it's great to be in the one place for the weekend. All the rooms were clean and comfortable - some of them with sea views. We had a karaoke machine and spent friday night belting out songs - one of the girls with us was pregnant and she had a room down the back and said she couldn't hear a thing! The owner Deirdre couldn't have been more helpful in the build up to the weekend. We went surfing with perfect day surfing on the saturday. The strand is about a 7 - 8 min walk. We had dinner in Trá Bán restaurant and partied in the Strand Bar afterwards. We had a fabulous weekend - everyone thourughly enjoyed it and I'd highly recommend the Ocean Wave Lodge as a place to stay
