Stayed here for two nights in August on their horse riding package, couldn't have been better, room was excellent, staff were brilliant, view was beautiful and horse riding was great. Staff gave us tips on where to go and even booked us in for a surfing lesson! Highly recommended

Thankyou so much for taking the time to review and im delighted that you enjoyed your two night break with us. Thankyou for your kind comments regarding staff and the deluxe room you stayed in.

Horseriding is one of more popular packages and so im delighted that it worked out to your liking... especially the pony trekking on the beach.

If you are in Strandhill in the future please do not hesitate to let me know and perhaps we might organise a kayaking, surfing or flying lesson package for you.

Stayed weeknd with a group of friends and couldn't rave more about this hotel. Clean, fresh and set in lovely surroudings with Knocknarea to one side and Strandhill beach to another. David and staff couldn't be more helpful. As a wheelchair user I highly recommend this hotel. Hotel was easy to navigate and bathroom in room was very accessible. Staff were attentive and mostly anticipated any possible issues. Will definitely come back here :)

Just back from 2 nights in this lovely hotel. Highly recommended for a quiet relaxing getaway. Loved the hotel, clean, fresh and nicely decorated.Continental breakfast was more that sufficient, loads to choose from.Staff were very helpful and polite especially David.Nothing was a problem.
We did try the Venue next door for dinner, which in my opinion was just ok.only sorry we didn't venture somewhere else for dinner. All in all I would and will highly recommend this hotel and cant wait to get back

Room Tip: get a room with a balcony

We stayed here for a weekend at the end of August 2012. The reason we chose here was that we had seen all the great reviews on TripAdvisor - and here's another one.
We had booked a sea-view balcony room via Expedia. However, when I phoned to check our booking with the hotel, there had been a computer miscommunication, and this room wasn't free. David went out of his way to sort this out for us, and offered us the apartment with a view of Knocknarea. This large apartment had lots of space, was spotlessly clean, and included everything we could ask for, including a comfy sofa, dining table, comfortable king size bed, 2 plasma TVs, cappuccino machine, coffee, tea and biscuits, fridge with milk and mineral water, microwave, safe, bathrobes, slippers...
Breakfast was really good, with a great variety of food, such as yogurts, breads, cereals, granola, danish pastries, ham, boiled eggs, cheese, etc. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The only downside was that the breakfast room was small so there weren't enough tables to accommodate everyone. We took our coffee out to the very large sitting area in the foyer to read the newspapers, which was a very relaxing place to sit. There is also a complimentary coffee machine in the foyer, available 24 hours a day.
When we arrived, David gave us lots of useful information on local facillities, including suggestions on where to eat. The hotel has several bars and a restaurant right beside it, and it takes about 12-15 minutes to walk to other restuarants/bars at the seafront. There is a large car park at the hotel.
All in all, I cannot fault the hotel or the staff, and I will definitely come back to stay in the balcony room!

Dear Snowymoate

Thankyou so much for taking the time to review and for such such a positive appraisal.

We try and cater for each guests needs as individuals and so im glad this came across well during your stay i will pass on these comments to the staff. The balcony rooms are certainly very popular and the views are indeed spectacular... especially when the sun is shining or even when the wind is up and the waves can be seen and heard crashing off the headlands.

Im glad you like our decor as we try and keep it refreshed on a regular basis to prevent it being tarnished through wear and tear etc. The complimentary extras included in the room rate as you mentioned are provided to enhance your experience with us in a minor way but it is nice to know it is appreciated.

We are blessed to have great restaurants close by and we are delighted to recommend all of them.

Thankyou again for taking the time to review and im delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us.
I look forward to welcoming you back to Strandhill soon.

We stayed at the Strandhill Lodge for 3 nights at the end of August. From check in to check out we had a truly wonderful experience.Beautiful view from our balcony taking in Strandhill Bay and the golf course.Bedroom was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff were very professional, accomodating, and friendly, and all seemed to enjoy their job.You are made to feel like you are the only ones there! This hotel is not typical of the regular chain hotels, it is very classy, cool and elegant. 24 hour complimentary tea coffee and biscuits is provided, a wonderful idea when you just want to relax and read in the lounge. The continental breakfast is more than sufficient, and if you leave the breakfast room hungry well then ....what more can i say! The manager Dave is a true gentleman, provides lots of information on places to visit and restaurants to dine in.The Venue next door to the hotel is a great restaurant and bar. Overall we had a great stay at the hotel and we would certainly highly recommend it. We will definately return.

Many thanks for taking the time to write your review it is greatly appreciated.

The views from the balconies are indeed spectacular and more so if the sun is shining...! Im glad you found the soft furnishings and amenities to your liking.

I will pass on your kind and gracious comments to the front desk staff and the cleaning staff also.

We are lucky to have the Venue bar and restaurant in such close proximity and indeed the other bars and restaurants in the main part of the village. We like to provide the complimentaryy tea/coffee just a small extra to facilitate our guests.

It is always a delight to read such pleasant reviews as your own and thankyou for taking the time to do so. I hope you to see you again soon and i look forward to welcoming you back.

Thanks again

We stayed here for two nights in August with our 3 kids (7, 4 & 1). We had booked a suite & it was perfect for our family. The rooms were completely spotless, water & milk provided in the fridge & the staff couldn't have been any more helpful. I really cannot fault this hotel they are doing a brilliant job & many other hoteliers need to pay a visit to this establishment to see how it should be done!

It is great to hear that young families such as yourselves enjoy the suites as they do give that bit of extra space for parents to relax - so it is always great to get such feedback.

Thankyou for your gracious comments i will ensure that all our staff see them.

Thankyou again for taking the time to review and i hope to see you again soon in the future.
