I have visited the strand a lot and it is the classic Irish pub vibe with friendly local staff and always a good atmosphere.

“Sticks in Yer Throat”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

Staying in nearby Bundoran for the Easter holiday week, we were lucky enough to catch some fine weather. Taking a drive out to the magnificent Strand, we decided to pop into The Stand Bar. I ordered a coffee and a Morgan's Spiced Rum from the bar. The total came to just under ten euros...
Come on, it's a nice bar, it's a nice setting but nearly ten euros for a coffee and one drink??? I am Scottish, but I have paid Dublin prices, so do not get me wrong...it's not the money, I just do not react kindly to being ripped off.
Perhaps, it is your custom, to charge punters for an additional drink when they ask for a mixer? So, a Morgans and diet coke would become two drinks...because you supply only a dainty little glass bottle of diet coke...ahhhh how cute.
Like, the proverbial monkey, that cannot extract his hand from the hole in the tree because he won't let go of a grasped juicy nut, perhaps you think this is a clever way of maximising take.
Is there another way though?
Perhaps, the Management of The Strand bar is smarter than this poor, proverbial monkey and will come to realise, that you could've made a whole lot more money from me by NOT ripping me off.
The toasties we had later were distinctly average, perhaps my opinion had been somewhat coloured.

I cant praise this restaurant enough! The food is so delicious, the service is quick and attentive and the restaurant was busy and had a nice buzz around it. I would definitely come here again.

“Great Food”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

After a walk along the endless beaches of Strandhill its well worth your whild to stop off at the Strand bar for a coffee or a snack. We just had a coffee and desert and judging by the presentation and taste of our choice I'm pretty sure that the main courses would be equally as tasty. Food is reasonably priced.
