Review of Clinton House Museum

Clinton House Museum
Ranked #14 of 45 things to do in Fayetteville

Attraction details
Recommended length of visit: <1 hour
Owner description: The first home of Bill and Hillary Clinton and where they were married is situated in the beautiful Ozark Mountains in Fayetteville, Arkansas. At one bedroom and 1800 square feet, this unassuming house is like many other homes that surround it. However, this home has a special place in local, national, and international history. Bill Clinton took Hillary Rodham's hand in marriage seventeen years before he would be elected President. The home's series of owners also have deep roots in local Arkansas history. The museum houses memorabilia of Clinton's early political career, including his campaigns for US House of Representatives and Arkansas Attorney General. Temporary and timely exhibits cover the history of Secretary Clinton's life in public service and her time in Arkansas. View a faithful replica of Hillary's wedding dress, and follow a timeline to put their Fayetteville years in perspective. Peruse our gift shop, discovering books, mementos, and more for a keepsake of your trip and be just steps away from the University of Arkansas campus where the Clintons taught at the Law School. OPEN: MONDAY-FRIDAY 10-5, SATURDAYS 9-5 ADMISSION: ADULTS $8, SENIORS $7, STUDENTS $5, CHILDREN UNDER 12 $1

“This is not free entry!”

Various tourist leaflets stated that this museum was free - we arrived the to see a sign on the door stating '$8 per adult'! We therefore didn't bother - disappointing!

“Obscure Presidential Stuff”

I'm torn about this attraction. It is one of those little, out of the way places that if you are already in Fayetteville and you have some time, it's a nice little side trip to see where Bill and Hillary lived when they were at the University of Arkansas years ago. It is crammed full of memorabilia from that era and worthy of some of your time. Of course, it pales in comparison to the Clinton Museum in Little Rock, but it is a quaint and charming place to spend an afternoon perusing ephemera and such.

“Wouldn't miss it....”

Visited the Clinton Museum the day before Thanksgiving, met with Kate the Director of the museum, what a great experience. Kate was in the process of painting the kitchen but stop to talk with us and provided us with some great stories and history of the house. Loved the whole tour of the house. Great memory.

“Very insightful”

Learn about Clinton's beginning. This is their first home as a married couple. Very informative. Also a good place to visit to get out of the cold.

“Worth visiting, but not that great”

The Clinton House Museum is a spot along the Billgrimmage tour of Arkansas. If you are a fan of Bill Clinton or have a strong interest in politics then this place is worth checking out. If you are not in either of these categories, then you can pass the Clinton House Museum. It's a nice place to see and stand where the Clintons got married, but overall they only lived in this small house for a couple years and it was a small part of their life. The museum also costs as much as the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, which is a way better attraction. The service is very friendly and knowledgeable on Bill Clinton.
