“Grilled Cheese Heaven.”

Cool hipster vibe right in the center of the entertainment district. Great local beer selection and awesome grilled cheese sandwiches. Something for everyone and a great patio to enjoy the weather! Try the cheese fries. Just do it.

“One of my favorite lunch spots!”
Reviewed March 28, 2014 via mobile

We had a birthday lunch here on a very busy Saturday. We had to wait a few minutes for a table, but were served quickly once seated. We had the sweet potato fries for an appetizer. They were fabulous. We had sandwiches, salads (the turkey salad-yum!) and a hot dog at our table. The hotdog was quite special- not just a typical dog. We always love the sandwiches. It was all good! Homemade dressings, fresh ingredients, and a fun atmosphere! We will be back for sure.

This restaurant was recommended by others on Trip Advisor, so we decided to check it out. We arrived for a late lunch (after 1:30 pm) and the place was packed. The food was incredible. The staff was polite, attentive & helpful. Don't miss out I f you're in the area.

“Best grilled cheese sandwiches we've ever eaten!”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

Ok, so grilled cheese sandwiches are not exactly the most healthful things to eat, but you owe it to yourself to enjoy one of the extraordinary grilled cheese sandwiches from Hammontree's. We eat here every single time we come to Fayetteville and dream about their sandwiches when we're back home.

They serve other food, such as hot dogs, soups, and salads, but they are famous for their outstanding grilled cheese sandwiches. They take the yummy American basic to a whole new level, offering a wide variety of cheeses, breads, meats, condiments, and toppings. If you want to substitute an ingredient or bread in one of their regular sandwiches, they do it easily and happily. If you prefer, you can design your own sandwich from their list of ingredients to make your sandwich your way. The sandwiches are generous, and we frequently get one to share or take half of ours home for lunch the next day. They come with potato chips that are tasty, but you can also order fries if you prefer.

The atmosphere is family-oriented but definitely college town: brick walls, bar, television screens, and a wall of windows that look onto a small outdoor seating area. On football weekends, the wait can be long for a table because this place is a Fayetteville must-visit, but it is definitely worth the wait.

You will probably have to pay to park your car, but if the parking lot is full don't let it discourage you from dining here. Fayetteville has a large, municipal parking lot just about a block away, so if you don't find a parking spot at the restaurant, simply drive back to Dickson Street and park in that lot that is near the train tracks. If you like grilled cheese, there is no way you should let a short walk or a long wait prevent you from discovering the cheesy goodness waiting for you at Hammontree's.

“All grilled cheese”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Great grilled cheese place. I loved the Cheebawca grilled cheese. The cilantro dressing on the grilled cheese was great. I want more of it now. The gouda cheese fries with avocado ranch dressing were good, but not sure I would order them again. Husband got the apple dog, no brie, and really liked it. Overall good food, and would go back.

Atmosphere was great. Fun place. Nice patio. Neat area.
