I am back reviewing again after yet another successful event in the Glencarn Hotel. The staff and management of this hotel are all very like minded, friendly and cater to your every need.
We ran a very successful 2 day Christmas Market and fair in the hotel, we had stand holders from as far as France attending, they were so impressed with the last event that they returned!!
The hotel provided 2 a-joining function rooms for the large event of 71 stands, they assisted with sound and electrical and lots more.
What i love about this hotel is, its like one big family of staff in there. Everyone gets on, there is always a friendly chat and a laugh from them, and anything you ask for is just simple done without any stress. The hotel is so welcoming for everyone, even if your just popping in for a cup of coffee in the bar, or if your having a meal, or indeed meeting to book it as a venue for a wedding or event; The reception desk is in the heart of the hotel, and almost everyone who comes in is greeted by the staff, there are not many places you can say this about now.
Our event is an annual event now, and we are repeat customers to the Glencarn, and its for all the reasons above we keep coming back.

The hotel staff offered us, the event organisers one of their recently decorated rooms for changing facilities for the weekend. This was a great benefit to us and was greatly appreciated. The room was very clean, had all the essentials, hair dryer (a good one!) TV, plenty of towels, shower gels etc. really nice, Can't comment on the tv, as to be honest i didn't look (hadn't time)

I would highly recommend the Glencarn Hotel, as i have done before on Trip Advisor.
There is alot to be said for Hotel Staff and Management like that of The Glencarn Hotel, it gets a 5 star rating from me AGAIN!

Lovely hotel and location
Went to a Friday night dance to see Derek Ryan . Value amazing £100 b&b plus entry to dance.
Staff friendly, helpful an welcoming .
Dance hall spacious not to crowded and amazing door staff.
Bedrooms very dated for 2012 not modern but basic and clean.
No tea/coffee making facilities in room which is always nice and should be standard in rooms . Beds very hard but clean.

10 of us stayed in the hotel after playing golf in Concra Wood GC. The staff in the hotel, particularily Lorraine and Kathleen organised everything for us and were not only friendly but helpful and added to the enjoyment of our visit.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and great value. We has a great dinner in the hotel restaurant and again the staff there were not only efficient but great fun.b There was a Big Band playing in the ballroom and the place was hopping - a different night out but great fun.
Start to Finish it was a great trip and we are looking forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: I stayed in a room overlooking the car park on the left of the hotel. Slept like a baby was not not aware of any noise, traffic or otherwise.

I have stayed here a few times mainly with work. It is a very clean, comfortable hotel in Castleblayney. I had bar food and breakfast in the hotel and everything was very nice. Rooms were slightly dated but extremely clean and comfortable which is a good sign of the attention that goes into caring for guests in this establishment. There is a nice leisure centre at the hotel also which looks nice. Staff were amongst the friendliest I have encountered in any hotel I have been to. I would recommend this hotel.

Stopped and had lunch here recently to break the long drive home. We didnt stay in the hotel so obviously cannot comment on same. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Nice clean toilet facilities also. However the staff did not appear to be friendly or interested in their job. We had to repeat our order 4 times to one server as she kept writing down the wrong food items, and the lady who served us the food just 'plonked the plate' in front of us without a smile or a word. The food was very good, but we were glad to leave. A smile doesnt cost anything!
