“Why is there not more site information/history?”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

A nice place to visit, but the lack of historic/site information baffles me! Surely the OPW could put up more information boards explaining what we are visiting and its historic significance.

“Unbelievably beautiful”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

This ruined abbey and the site where, traditionally, St Patrick lit the first Paschal (Easter) flame in 433AD is free to visit and provides some of the most spectacular views of the area. The (legible) tombstones date to the early nineteenth century and the bonus views from the upper levels of the ruins are spectacular for those who can manage the steep steps and slightly precarious ledges.
Poor St Patrick is represented by a shabby white statue that has seen better days. Otherwise the site is immaculate and unspoiled. Lovely !

Easy access and well presented display boards make this a great viewpoint and site visit as part of the entire Hills of Tara and Newgrange historical references

“Marvelous view”

This spot could easily be overlooked but it was worth the trouble to seek it out and the view from the hill is terrific.
